Just spoke with Elijah McCall (Oliver McCall's son who is an undefeated pro heavy himself) about tomorrow's fights. Apparently the weights go like this:

    Oliver McCall 238 lbs.

    Opponent Lance Whitaker 253 lbs.

    Elijah McCall 225 lbs.

    Opponent Reggie Jackson 285 lbs.

Funny how McCall stays in better shape than some of other heavies, 20 years younger than him.

That 253 seems a little high for Lance, but it's much better than the 270's he was in when he fought Sultan a few years ago.

I have never seen Elijah McCall fight. I have heard of him, but only that he is Oliver's son, and that they fight on the same cards. Have you seen him fight? Is he like his old man? What is his style like? Does he have a chance of making an impact on this weak division?

That is funny. Seriously, the dude is 44 and an ex-drug addict, and seems to treat his body better than these young dudes.

He is a champion in the making in my eyes if he is brought along the right way. He is a work in progress, but could be something special in the future. Here you go my man, some vids of his fights:

It won't help him improve his technique or ability. McCall should run away with this. Even at his age, he's a better fighter than Whitaker could ever hope to be.

footwork looks bad, defense looks bad, he's a big powerful dude, I know he's got power but you'd expect him to look a lot sharper considering his pops was a former champ(for however brief). He definitely doesn't look like a guy who's been around the sport from an early age.

Give it time man. He has only had 4 pro fights. And he has no amateur background either. If he is brought along slowly, and with the proper teaching (which he is getting from not only his dad, but also from Yoel Judah) then he will improve vastly.
