I think the fight will start slow and boring with both fighters "testing" each other out, and Ward will probably take the first 2 rounds given his hometurf advantage, but if Kessler fights as usual he will start put pressure on Ward around 3 or 4 round and throw some more heavy shots at him. If Kessler have got atleast 20% more sharp since Perdomo i can see Kessler take the lead now and control the action! But to make a longer analyse short, honestly i think Kessler will need a stoppage to win this fight.. Not good odds, but i believe he will get it in the later rounds!
This fight will be in Ward's home town, with Ward's judges, referee, commentators, ring, etc., so Kessler will need to go for the kill. Still, I expect to see Ward fans complain about decision, or KO or TKO. This is a set-up, but will it backfire?
I don't know about everything else but the ring will be the same as every other fights in the tournament. The ring will be 20'.
As negative as it may sound, I'm afraid you are right. People can praise a boxer as much as they like for the skills shown outside hitting-distance, like those who praise Dirrell and thought he won against Froch. Ultimately boxers should be judged by what they can do WITHIN hitting-distance. Like Dirrell did not have more than Froch in the hitting zone the same will be the case with Ward against Kessler. Ward will look great outside the hitting-distance but once he gets close Kessler will score. I expect Ward to do the "dancing with the stars" and quite a lot of holding. Ward´s points will come from bodywork, i.e., hooks in abundance, leaving his bell open for clean shots (straight rights). Ward needs to meet two requirements to beat Kessler: Higher Workrate and a Chin. The one with the most gas on the tank wins then. As for Kessler KO´ing Ward I think its down to how much holding the ref allows. If Ward can get away with it chances of a KO drops significantly.
Ward dont seem to have impressive power at all, and I dont think he can handle Kesslers bombs too many rounds. Even if he is young I see him end up like Lucas and Siaca retiring between rounds or getting knocked silly in the later rounds

I dont think Ward will get away with this tactic against Kessler. Calzaghe tried something simular and Kessler was fast backing off steping to the right and delivered some solid contra punches - at some point this will happen againt Ward too
This series WILL have some surprise results/outcomes and I just have a little hunch that this will be the first.
WROOOOONG!!! Well, the last sentence was right, you genius. Ward has boxing skill, something you haven't seen, and I'm afraid...something you know nothing of. Your specialty appears to be taking anonymous shots at folks who actually DO know boxing. Back to ballet for you.
