Well David Tua and Mike Tyson are both quite similar physically and stats wise, we all know Tyson was born weighing 216 pounds but what about David Tua (looks like a lil 44yr old george foreman), did he have to use weights to build that physique or is he from the same stock as tyson?

he does lift weights, but i dont think thats where his physique derives from. Tua comes from a line of naturally big men, the samoan wrestling family or something like that. samoan men as a whole are generally naturally thick. tua is related to the rock, that should explain something lol.

I don't know. All I know is that he's Samoan and those ****ers are gigantic and thick people. There's a few Samoans who go to my gym to lift weights and they're among the biggest and strongest mother****ers in the place.

Tua, as an athlete obviously works out, but many of his traits are not bought in the gym.

    Look at the legs.

Then look at Holyfield's, who despite the use of HGH has the legs of an old grandmother.

Note of warning to the OP: Always be careful about mentioning "weights" on a boxing forum. These threads usually end in several deaths.

I'm sure he incorporates a good deal of weight-lifting into his training but I don't think it's as intensive as a bodybuilder's. He usually looks strong and well-muscled but not exactly cut (even in his prime).

Must have done if his first professional fight he was only 201lbs. He probably took muscle supplements aswell, still a heavy guy for someone who's only 5'10. Most guy's his size are 3/4 stone lighter, even with the same level of fat....

they all lift weights. Much more when younger as muscle has memory and comes back quickly once they start lifting... usually the heavy lifting is in the 1st week or 2 of camp with a little light flifting through out camp
