I would put Vitali AFTER Ali and somewhere in the top 5 or 6 all-time along with Holmes, Lewis, Louis and maybe Jack Johnson.

a prime tyson?..i dont think so..tyson always had a problem with big tall guy's..and none of them where on vitali's level..ali,, no..vitali would slowly get to him late in the fight. vitali wont gas like forman did..holmes..no..holmes had a tuff fight with cooney..vitali is light years better then cooney..dempsy..just to small..foreman..vitali would take him to deep waters and drowned him..lennox is the only guy i can think of that could..but vitali proved he could beat him too and was beating him untill the boxing god's smiled on lennox in that fight.,

You should rephrase the thread as best HTH. "Greatest" carries legacy, impact on the sport, to what extent he transcended the sport, things of this nature. From that standpoint, he's nowhere near the greatest. HTH you've got an argument (albeit a losing one..)

Lennox Lewis and Chris Byrd. Oh and Hide was ahead on the cards before the racist ref stopped it.

..im not talking about so much what they have done..more man against man..in the ring..i just cant see even a prime ali beating him..it would be a good fight..but i dont think ali could hurt him..but i think vitali could hurt ali..
