Good post until that point, Lewis retired because he finally met his match and was embarassed in his fight against Vitali. He knew he would have to fight him again and it would be pretty rough going down the stretch so he decided to retire. Thats my opinion

top 20 i can definitely agree with, at least wlad. based on talent i think vitali is up there but on resume, he's a little behind

I am lost for words. Do you realize how bad is your argument, if this can be called an argument that is? A few question for you.

    1. Hom many rounds Vit lost in his career?
    1. How is that Vitali's more hittable "at all times"? Give me some examples :rofl
    2. Why do you think Vitali is slow?
    3. Tyson's uppercut against 6'8" Vit? That's just ******ed! There was only one uppercut landed on Vit (by Lewis) in his whole career. :nut
    4. Why is it a "major difficulty" for Vit to jab down on Tyson? Hint, he lands 50+ jabs on average per round.
    5. Why do you think Vit's timing isn't that great? Yes, some examples would be nice :rofl

Answering #1 will pretty much clear your argument. Try to answer the rest too, just for fun:lol:

One thing I do know is that Lewis beat the crap out of him, and if Lewis was in his prime it would only have been worse.

As for the other fighters, I'll be honest and say not many beat him. Louis, Liston, Foreman, Holmes, Ali. Bowe, maybe Holyfield and Tyson and Wlad all have Legitimate shots though. Live underdogs would be the swamers such as Dempsey, Marciano, and Frazier, although they'd all give away a massive size advantage.

That said, his career achievements, which is how you really define a fighter, doesn't put him in the top 10.

Rounds won and knock out ratios are one thing, but they aren't a substitute for number of title defenses, longivity at the top, and over all comp. The later could easily be a factor in the number of rounds won and KO records, cause obviously the easier the comp, the more padded someone's record is going to look.
