He won't have to lose any more weight as they notified Yosihda's camp of the problem and they agreed for the fight to go ahead. Neer and Tibau both missed weight, but they agreed for the fight to go ahead at there current weights. Source: http://mmajunkie.com/news/16599/ufc...results-live-from-the-l-a-live-event-deck.mma
****ed up how Okami vs Sonnen doesn't even make the televised undercard on Spike. The man deserves more than that.
Yeah, its a joke the way they are treating him. On a postive note, its good to see Hardonk vs Barry will get aired. That should be an exciting fight.
Yeah I don't understand why Okami gets played like this. He's a good fighter. Mean while the UFC televises Gray Maynard snooze fests. Not that Gray isn't a good fighter, he definately is, but come on other than that Kimura he put on Huerta what has he really done to an opponent other than lay on him? Okami is a vet and a contender and needs some TV time. Had he beaten Franklin when they fought he'd be a bigger name right now.
Okami vs Sonnen will probably make the PPV as a swing bout if it's anything but boring. Johnson needs to move up, 6 pounds over when everybody is telling you months in advance that you have to cut a huge amount of weight and you tell them you aren't worried is totally unacceptable. Word is that even making 176 was extremly hard, that is just totally unprofesional.
the lack of okami really bugs me, im not even a fan per say, but i mean the guy is 7-1 in ufc, and is a good fighter, i wonder who he pissed off
Johnson would be a big MW, not really worth it putting himself through the grind of trying to make weight if it's that difficult.
I wonder what Yoshida gets out of this. There MUST have been some concession to get him in the ring, because six pounds is a hell of a lot. Maybe they told him that he can lose this one brutally and still not get booted out, maybe they promised him an easy fight if he makes it out of the first, maybe he got some cash...it HAS to be something...
