I would have to say NO on this one. The level of comp in the the heavy weight division today sucks. To say that he is the best, fighting the guys that he's fighting would not be fare to those fighters before him who had better comp. The other dominate fighter in the division is his brother, and they won't fight each other. So saying VK is the best ever would definitely be a misnomer.

If you know people are going to disagree with you, what makes you right?

And do you think that Vitali is the only champ in history that put down every fighter put in front of him? No, many champions have done what Vitali is doing.

And since you can see Vitali beating all these other fighters, it makes me wonder. Do you know anything about Tyson, Foreman, Ali, etc, etc?

I'm doubting this, so I'd say you should spend some time devoting yourself to the sweet science other than just being a Vitali fan. Watch some tape of some real classics, and then come back here with what you learned.

Vit Klit himself said that Lennox was the biggest name in the history of boxing.

No, Right now vitali is top 20-30 heavyweight of all-time....but I'm curious what he will be doing at 40....Foreman did some work past 40, and climbed the rankings...

i think vitali will retire a universally recognised to 10 atg heavyweight. the only thing holding him back is the lack of names in this era. i'm as big a lewis fan as you will find on here but if vitali had got a rematch i think lewis would have been in trouble. i think lewis new that as well.

    Against what opposition?

He keeps his hands at his waist. He's slow. He has no real defensive skills. He's wide open to be hit. If he wasn't fighting nothing but bums it'd be a different situation.

He is. Do you have eyes? Maybe he doesn't seem that slow cus he fights nothing but fatties.

Tyson doesn't need an uppercut to beat Vit. Tyson can easily outbox him, or wear him down with hooks and rapid combinations. It's a total mismatch skill-wise.

He lands 50+ jabs on who? Chris Arreola, Sam Peters? Unlike those fighters, Mike Tyson doesn't stand around and let you hit him in the face.

His timing is okay against bums and tomato cans like Chris Arreola who stand straight up with a bullseye painted over their heads.

He's not even number 1 current heavyweight, he's not even number 1 in his own family !

His opposition has been relatively **** compared to the opposition of the great heavyweights of the past.
Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Ali, Frazier - to name but five - all beat much better opposition, quality and quantity.

Although this thread is a wind up for certain, Vitali already ranks higher all time than Bowe does. Head to head he's a challenge for any Heavyweight but that doesn't make him the best Heavy ever.................

    Co-Sign!

Vitali's defense is seriously under rated here on ESB.

He's not even in top 10 in terms of H2H, probably not even top 15. He's not in the top 20-25 in terms of a non H2H criteria either.
