    obviously one of my favourite ever fighters (avatar). i want your stories on hagler, your opinions on him as you've grown up whether good or bad. i grew up with him fighting duran, hearns, mugabi.

    what a phenominal all round fighter, what an intimadating charachter, and what a man.

    give me your opinions on marvin, whether good or bad.

    first fight i ever watched was hagler/hearns. My dad dragged me in to watch in when i was 5. Damn hagler set the bar too high...took 15 years til i saw another fight that came close.

    Great fighter. Versatile and complete. Very effective at range behind his long jab, good combinations and accuracy, heavy hands, solid parrying defense and head movement, and could take a great shot. He could fight inside in addition to his outside skills, and brawl when he needed to. I consider his fight with Hearns one of the greatest displays of a fighter effectively changing his style, since it was so hard to outbox the tall, rangy Hearns at range. Hagler didn't do it against some scrub, he did it against a great fighter in Hearns.

    I also didn't agree with the decisions in the Watts loss (thought Hagler won), Antufermo draw (thought Hagler won), and Leonard loss (had it 114-114).

    When Thomas Hearns called for a delay in their fight due to a badly injured finger, Hagler went ballistic at a question and answer session with various sports writers. He started yelling if he had the chance to fight for the middleweight championship and one of my fingers was hurt I'd cut that finger off and go in and destroy my opponent. He's making me wait, I'm the champ. Not exact words but as close as I can recall. Just such a true warrior and very intimidating persona. Easily as intimidationg as Tyson but far classier in interviews and very funny, down to earth guy on talkshows like Johnny Carson.

    My second favorite fighter ever.I remember when he was fighting in Philly against some great fighters.In my opinion one if the 5 greatest middleweights ever.Class act,too.Although,this whole thing belongs on Classic ESB.

    Definitely one of my top 10 fave. If only I were born 15 years earlier, then I could've beared witness to the era in person, rather than only in tapes!

    one of thee fights that got me into boxing.

    higlights of hagler v prime mugabi, look out for round 6, hagler at his best, never takes a step backwards, always meets fire with fire, and someone who fights for every second of every rounf.

    the greatest middleweight of all time?

    i love marvin but i thought he lost that fight 115-113, we all score **** different though. he never looked right in that fight, i thought he grew old in front of our eyes, maybe that was just the greatness of ray leonard though.

    i'm not gonna get into a disagreement lol

    just thought leonards flashy bursts outdid hagler steady grind that night, it was certainly a sad note for marvin to bow out of boxing.

    in hindsight its pretty amazing marvin was never tempted to comeback. i never did here what he got up to when he retired from boxing?
