There's not many boxers I don't respect, but I'm starting to really go that way with Campbell. I always respected his attitude. He made out he wanted fights, not money, he vilified quitters and those who couldn't make weight. He was a voice for a lot of frustrated fans, including myself, so he gained a fan. Now though? I really can't respect him after quitting. There's two types of quitting. 1. Where you're getting hammered and risk serious injury and 2. Pulling a fast one, when you know you can't win. Against Bradley, Campbell did the latter. Yes, it was a headbutt but it resulted in a small injury. We see hundreds on those cuts a year. Cotto had much worse in his last fight, as did Calderon, Katsidis and many more. He gave in because he knew he'd lose. Can I forgive that? Yes, but the way hes cheapened Bradley's name and slandered many more fighters is disgraceful. The man know longer has a high horse to see on and when he judges the boxing world, he exposes himself as a hypocrite and liar.
The fact that he was in such a hurry to insist that he cant see before his team even got a chance to clean it up with all the blood dripping around it still, proves the point that he indeed quit.Its also funny how he was more worried about having the fight ruled as a tko loss than he was to getting to the hospital asap.
It wasn't the cut dude, he was seeing spots. He suffered a vitreous hemorrhage in his left eye. Thats not a "small injury" dude. If he would've gone on who knows what could've happened to him, but of course none of you guys care right...smh.
That's the risk you take as a Boxer. Sometimes horrible injuries occur, but Boxing is his job he can't just say I can't see I'm seeing spots so I can't fight, give me my paycheck now. His nickname is the "Galaxy Warrior" he should fight like a warrior and man up when he faces adversity. Vazquez fought with a torn retina for 8 or 9 rounds against Marquez in their third fight.

Fighters shouldnt fight while injured just to feel like a warrior. Thats dumb. Its his health an its his right to protect it, if Vasquez is dumb enough to do that thats up to him, but ont applaud it. Many ppl walk away with serious injuries, no1 wants to c that. If a fighter feels like they are in no state to continue then THEY ARE IN NO STATE TO CONTINUE. You can call him a ***** from ur bedroom all u want but if he says he is no condition to fight then he is in no condition to fight.
So many fighters wouldn't quit even if they really couldn't see, and Nate was all too enthusiastic to throw in the sponge. It seemed like a meek surrender.
people die participating in this sport, if campbell couldn't see because a headbutt injury then he shouldn't fight on. Fans don't want to see him die just for entertainment value it's different than being cut etc I would guess only fat armchair slobs are critical of nate who has shown in lots of fights he has a warrior's heart
He should continue to fight because it's his JOB. **** happens all the time in Boxing and it's a risk you take when you sign up and step into the ring, and if he was in serious condition why was he yapping for a good 30 minutes talking about how it's a NC and not a TKO? He should have gone to the hospital right away. He was just looking for a way out because he knew he was going to get his ass kicked by Bradley. Same thing happened to Cotto, he could have quit and got his win no problem, but he continued to fight. Which is something you have to go through as a Boxer on occasions.
NO1 SHOULD RISK THEIR LIFE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ANY JOB, ITS JUST A REALLY DUMB THING TO DO. Any person's health is the most important thing in their life. TBH its not clear to me how serious the injury was. the bottom line is that it DOESNT matter. If he feels he cant fight the HE CANT FIGHT. Y the **** should he risk his health for you. You dont risk ur life for anyone, so why should he do that just so you get some entertainment. Whether he was faking or not doesnt really matter. If he was faking then thats cowardly and if he wasnt then good for him. Bottom line, he has the responsibility to fight only when he feels fit to do so.

Firefighters don't say "Well, that fire is too big, I'm not going to risk my life," It's their job that's what they signed up for. There are numerous examples and risks you have to take take if you sign up for something. Also, don't bring up personal matters you don't know me. So, don't say I don't risk my life for anybody, noob.
I was a Forest Firefighter. Safety first. If the fire is too big or too dangerous we would pull out. In many jobs you get benefits and have sick and injury days. Boxing doesn't exactly come with health benefits, it's all about the individual. Boxing is also a career and fighters who try to be blood n guts warriors usually are shot before making any good pay days, and if they last their career they pay with their mind (dementia).
