Even Arum wasn't too positive in his opinion of how Cotto was looking during sparring. He said he was "improving" while he said Pac was looking magnificent. I know it's not everything, but it is a little troublesome that the only two sparring partners Cotto has are not even prospects.

Say what you want about Pac's camp, but Roach knows what he's doing and he brought in really good fighters. Cotto's camp lost the only mid-level guy they even had.
