I've watched the video of this over and over again on YouTube, and it seems very clear to me that after landing a right hand Lewis blatantly pushes Tyson to the floor. Has this been brought up before, and what do people think about it? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD9Cf_dAVdg[/ame]
Well if it was a push then Tyson had 10 seconds to clear his head and get up....Lewis must be the hardest pusher in history if that's the case.
Hmm I see where you're coming from. He seems to put his weight on Tyson, and nudge him to the floor. But still, whether he pushed him or not, a stoppage was nearing second by second. Man I wish those two met when Tyson was in his prime
Alot of guys will push after punches, especially straight rights. Hopkins and Mayweather do it most obviously, but it really just gets the guy there quicker, if he can't get up after 10 seconds from a push he was basically out on his feet.
i guess thats why tysons camp ducked lewis hungh??? lol... did u see what a young lewis was doing to some of tyson's foes.. for example.. razor ruddick took tyson to the 12th round but was destroyed by lewis in 2 rounds
lewis got sloppy seconds. Ruddock was ruined after those two Tyson fights. in any case this has been done to death. I'd favor a peak tyson to KO Lewis.
I agree. Razor Ruddock came out of those two wars badly beaten. Tyson was landing all of his hard shots flush, and yet, Ruddock still wouldn't go anywhere. His punch resistance must have suffered, because only one right hand finished Ruddock off when those two fought. The same right hand, and left hands that were threw by Tyson, more compact and faster shots, Ruddock would go down from but got up and recovered. Perhaps that says a lot about Lewis as a finisher, but Ruddock certainly wasn't a primed fighter after Tyson II. Still an impressive showing by Lewis to blow out Ruddock, who was viewed as a future Heavyweight champion after his effort against Iron Mike. As for the push? Complete non factor considering the right hand was what destroyed Tyson, who needless to say, did not get back up. It was a beating, and there's no controversy involved. Lewis tapped that ass, albeit an old battle torn ass.
