Crazy delay period. Fight should have started a full four minutes ago. Ringside physician is MIA. :?

    Round 1
Frias is very slippery. Not a twinkle-toe type of defensive fighter, but rather more of a James Toney, standing in front of you and making you miss with upper body movement and picking shots off. Hernandez threw a good deal despite not connecting much clean. I'd be curious to see punch stats. Frias defended well and could have won the round were he any more active offensively - just not enough there.

    Hernandez 10-9

Based on that round, I seriously doubt Frias has the handspeed to make his style work.

    Round 2
Frias pops a snappy right jab with a little arc to keep touching Hernandez's face. Hernandez struggles to figure out a solution. Frias shells up and then throws in combination when in close. Hernandez pushes out with his arms trying to create distance, clearly uncomfortable punching without room to square up on a target.

    Frias 10-9

this is going to be a 1 sided fight

Hernandez is investing to the body, circling nicely and Frias already looks to be in survival mode towards the end of the round

    2-0 Hernandez

    Hernandez's matchmaker deserves a bonus.

Damian Frias - Ishe Smith. FOTY 2010.

    Round 3
Frias catches Hernandez with a stinging hook over the lazy push-away jab which El Riel looks to be sticking with as a coping mechanism for Frias closing the gap. Hernandez throws several hard punches in combination, getting 100% blocked upstairs and landing about 100% to the body. Frias pumping the jab but with less authority than in previous rounds. Nothing significant landed since the hook. Again, Hernandez' output on the offensive end gets him the round. I like Frias' defense but it can't be the sole basis for scoring a round.

    10-9 Hernandez

    29-28 Hernandez

    Round 4
I think Tarver and Farhood have nailed it in their commentary last round - Frias is treating this more like a sparring match. He's just too relaxed. Two minutes into this round, and he hasn't scored any offensive points since the hook at the beginning of the third. Damn shame too, because that was a nice sharp check hook. Hernandez leaves his jab lingering out to shove off and create punching room - ref not yet getting on his case for it. Hernandez lands several body punches with Frias pinned to the ropes, but the punches have slowed and don't look to have much on them. Frias has looked slothlike almost all night and now slothlike is appearing to give way to outright tired.

    10-9 Hernandez
