Chavez. Pac would be right there for him to hit. He would make it an infight fight and breaking Pac down, bit for bit. Chavez TKO9 Pac. as good as Pac is, Chavez is all wrong for him.

Pacquaio Mexicutes him late KO or decision, he beats him to the punch just like Meldrick did but Pacquaio has more power and hurts Chavez. Chavez has a good defense and chin so might not get ko'd but hes getting outboxed and put down a couple of times in this 1

If Pac beats Cotto than I would say hes the real deal.. Until then hes beaten Hatton who is probably one of the most overated fighters ever, and a shot ODLH. He was taken to school by Marquez, so I would favor Chavez who was stronger and better overall.

I think Chavez wins. He would slowly wear Pacman down. Pac does not like to fight on the inside/get roughed up.

Chavez is exactly the kind of fighter you would want if you're looking to beat Pac. He'd probably break Manny down and stop him in about 9 rounds. Very exciting fight, with Pac having his moments throughout, but Chavez too good at cutting off the ring & working inside, and he has the chin to take Pacquiao's return fire.

Hatton is not a patient stalker. Hatton is rough, tough, and is obliged to mix it up. Hatton doesn't really go much beyond that. Hatton fights as though it is fun for him, and he wants to prove he can out grind his opponent. Hatton doesn't look as though he is trying to find the optimum range from which to land cleaner punches. That is exactly what Chavez did.

Chavez looked to find a way to land cleanly, and hurt his opponent as much as he could for the duration of the fight. You rarely saw Chavez smother someone to the point it effected the leverage on his own punches.

I think that Chavez would remain patient enough to take advantage of the one thing Pacquiao offers him, straight shots down the middle. Hatton was too eager to get close to Pacquiao. Chavez would be more patient, and find ways to land the right cross. Once his cross starts landing, his left to the body would begin to find its way.

I am unable to see Pac taking this currently. The side to side movement, hand speed, and toughness of Pacquiao make it very interesting. I need to see Pac with a few more victories at 140 and 147.

It would take a much bigger hitter than Manny Pacquiao to put Chavez down let alone stop the man. I feel the early rounds would favor Pacquiao, his mobility and hand speed will cause havoc, just as Taylor's did, but what happens when the fight gets into the later rounds? We don't know how well Manny's stamina would keep up having an immovable object coming at him all time at Junior Welterweight. I favor Chavez to land more shots as the fight progresses, slowly breaking him down on route to a late stoppage. Pacquiao's punch resistance is currently unproven north of Super Featherweight, whereas it would take a truck, maybe two of them, to come close to stopping a good version of Julio Cesar Chavez. Manny doesn't have the firepower.

It wasn't just handspeed that bothered Chavez in the Meldrick Taylor fight, it was the fact that Taylor was throwing combinations of flurries. Chavez was as good as anyone at blocking one-two's, but Taylor was giving him four-fives and six-sevens to think about and that's what caused Chavez real problems.

Pacquiao does not throw punches like that. I expect Chavez to find Pacquiao's punches even more predictable than Marquez did and with a much better chin, defense, strength and punching power than Marquez, well, you know what that means....

I agree. I still feel Pacquiao would win the opening few rounds with his flurries and movement, but Chavez would inevitably get in close, bang to the body and head, and break down a fighter who's never been tested at Junior Welterweight before.

Yeah Pac can win some of the opening rounds, depending on how slow Chavez comes out of the blocks. If he paces himself like he did against Taylor, then for sure Pac can win some rounds.

I once written off Julio Cesar Chavez as a one-dimensional slugger with a heavily padded record. After reading about him, watching some of his fights, it soon became apparent that Chavez was extremely good in many areas. One of the best combination punchers I've ever seen, his balance and accuracy was incredible, and what is there left to say about his punch resistance? He was pretty close to being unknockoutable in his prime in my judgment, and those so called cab drivers he fought were just a method of training. When he stepped up the competition, more often than not, he won...and decisively. I feel a lot of people who are picking Pacquiao haven't done their homework on Julio Cesar Chavez.

A boxer with speed is going to beat Chavez at 140 Pacqiaio may not e as fast as Taylor but he has speed. Perhapps Chavez catches him but if he dose not pacquaio will win.

And then you woke up, Taylor is leap and bounds above PaC. Fact. No way is Pac taking the shots Taylor took, he was also way more skilled, had better balance and movement and put together beautiful combinations, his only mistake was that he was to get involved in a brawl when he did not have to but that is Detroit for you, did I say chin lol Pac was ****ing wobbled by Marquez, who only real claim to fame is that he was giving Pac a hard time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Chavez puts IMMENSE pressure on his opponents and once his patent liver shot is going to land it is game over for Pac. There is only one outcome for this fight : Chavez by KO, I mean KO not a TKO but that fight would never happen because Roach would never ever let Pac even close to a prime Chavez.

BTW, Taylor looked like a grotesq zombie after the fight despite the desperate cheerleading from the HBO crowd while Chavez looked like he is going out on a date.........all this nonsense is going to stop when Cotto will bring back reality.
