This thread goes out to the Grim Reaper, Red Robin Reid :boxer, The BEST british Fighter Of this Generation folks. :finger5

    Former WBC super Middle
    REAL WBO Super Middle :party
    REAL IBF Super Middle
    REAL WBA Super Middle

REAL Undisputed Super Middle OF the World. Except he got shafted :-(

He has a win over calzaghe (watch the fight, calzaghe got outworked and outlanded) That gives him the REAL WBO title win (that hes never lost in the ring)

He also has a win over Sven Ottke. CMON people that was a blatant robbery, He shoulda gotten the belts home dat night :bart

    Those wins completed his unification.:freddy:spy

BUT THEN he had the glory to go for one last run for the IBF title (he shoulda won this one too! Lacy shudda been DQED for rabbit punching after the 2nd round :nono)

So lets look at his REAL RESUME

Calzaghe - An atg superchamp. Great win, was the only one to give calzaghe that 1 mark on his almost perfect record :boohoo
Ottke - Another legend, to bad he also lost his 0 to the reaper :rosstheboss
Lacy - Undefeated Champ, Monster, Destroyer, Black Cybrog:firedevi:, LACY
(this was already when reid was washed up and old) win by dq
Vasquez - former light middle champion. Huge reign, a argentine LEGEND :hey
Brinkley - This guy didnt get on the contedner for nothing, very good young star, Hes the talk of hollywood they say:mj
Magee - Undefeated super middle, calzaghe was ducking him, reid was ****ing him :ko

Cmon guys, give this legend the respect he deserves

    :arran

Reid should have been IBF and WBA champion, it was close against Calzaghe, could have gone either way. Won WBC abroad. He deserves credit for that.

absolute daylight robbery against ottke, there wasnt a mark on robin reids face after the fight & ottke looked ****ed!

i agree with the above post that the calzaghe fight could have gone either way.

he was never in it at all against lacy.

i think he deserves alot of credit for holding his own against SOME of the best in his era, certainly more than he has got...

    This.

The Ottke fight was and still is incredible to watch. When Robin gets told after 5 rounds he's down on the scorecards his reaction is priceless. The reffing is some of the worst I have ever seen. This genuine robbery should not be confused with the close Calzaghe fight, which after Joe bust his hand was indeed very close.

Fact is though if Robin couldnt beat Joe convinvingly with Joe fighting basically one handed for 7 rounds you have to say a Joe with 2 good hands wins every time.

Winning the WBC over in italy was a masive achievment.

It was a very entertaining fight for the wrong reasons. It's even more weird when you consider they gave Reid the rounds he clearly lost.

Calzaghe comfortably beat Reid. Robin himself admitted straight after the fight he lost. The fact that it was a SD makes it look far more controversial than it was, and Reid than retracted his and got swept up in the controversy. How about you go and watch the fight, Calzaghe outlanded him in practically every round.
