I read that Martinez vs Williams is almost done.

Great news! I didn't get too worked up when hearing reports that it may be Sergie D instead of Sergio because it was just a little leverage technique to get Sergio martinez's wet signature before Nov 1. When i 1st read that Martinez wanted Paul Williams as he was already training for a lefty, I had a good feeling that this match would get made for early Dec. With Vernon (RIP) passing on a title and a division at an impasse, seems the perfect time to marry 4 belts across 2 divisions meaning Staphboy's could also be pawn brokered; all in 1 evening.

Sorry to show my ignorance here, but if Williams v Martinez is agreed and sanctioned at 160, does that raise the possibility of Rhodes v Chavez for the vacant 154 title ?

Around this time last year he was hinting that he would be retiring within a couple of years. I wonder if he was being serious...

As liniear Champions go, his reign as the 160lb Champ has been nothing short of a disgrace. Jermain Taylor, rightfully so, got stick for defending against a series of blown up 154lb fighters but Pavlik's reign consists of Gary Lockett and Marco Antonio Rubio...
