it's just funny. i'm not saying it's completely true, but from what i saw in that fight it's pretty damn close.

That's my whole point. I'm not a Dirrell fan. I like Froch. He's an ornery, determined *******, and very entertaining. But that decision was corrupt. As corrupt as Lewis v Holyfield I.

That's the sport you chose to adopt mate. Your options are to 1. campaign to get the rules changed, 2. put up with it the way it is or 3. watch something else. It's not like boxing has become subjective all of a sudden is it? It's been like that for years and complaining may make you feel better but it changes precisely **** all. Off to watch Adamek beat up one of his countrymen now. Later.

corrupt is the exact word. in this day and age corruption should be a non-factor in boxing. it's been one of, if not the most, corrupt sport in the world for the last century. it's gotten better, obviously, but the fact that **** like this still happens is embarrassing.

It's been a week now and I haven't heard one legitimate explanation of how Froch won, only "Froch won, get over it Yank".

    :happy:happy I think we have a confession!!!

Yeah it was like Calzaghe Lacy all over again.

I did seem to notice Dirrels face was pretty bloody at the end though...

True or false- Dirrell had the opportunity to land a least 3 times as many counters as he actually threw. I feel comfortable in saying he left dozens of scoring opportunities in the ring.

Fact is it wasn't near as one-sided as it could've been, and a big part of that is on Andre. If there's one thing for Dirrell to learn out of this, it's that he's got to get greedy when it comes to racking up points and scoring. I can't believe his corner thought doing just enough would've been enough.

The only thing worse is the ****ing denial I see alot of people in now; if I'd only read the reports of fans screaming robbery, I'd expect a fight that was a blowout, a Salvador Sanchez-Wilfredo Gomez like dismantling of counterpunching. It could've been a clinical dismantling. It wasn't.

Andre made him miss plenty. He didn't make Froch pay near enough.

Lesson learned for his next fight- fortunately for Andre, none of the errors are things he can't learn from. Hopefully he's not in the denial alot of people seem to be about it and he fixes them.

well said, but it was dirrell's very first championship fight and it was in froch's hometown. he wasn't taking as many chances as he should have, but it was still a very one-sided fight. if he wasn't so green he would have made froch pay a lot more often and he probably would have ended up with a knock out.

We know that, and more importantly, his corner knew that. It should've been drilled into his head prior to the fight that he'd have to do 110% to leave nothing up to chance. I saw moments of exceptional boxing for Dirrell that showed me what he can do with some more seasoning, combined with some errors (tactically speaking) that are the stupid kind inexperienced fighters make- the most glaring was not doing anything on the inside and yet initiating the clinches.

Froch was doing the scoring in those scenarios, and though it's the kind of scoring most fans don't count, all the judges saw was Froch landing shots on the inside whenever Andre needed a break. They were the kind of punches that don't count for much...unless the guy taking them doesn't throw back to give the appearance of an even exchange. Dirrell's got to realize that you can't go inside without an offensive purpose- either punch on the way in, while you're there, or the way out. Without that, there's zero reason outside a lack of proper conditioning to keep putting himself in the only place Froch can hit him.

Overall, I did see more positives than negatives from Dirrell given how he was an unproven commodity at the world level and I did think he won narrowly. He's got alot he can build on, but my biggest fear now is that he'll dwell on things instead of looking at what he can fix and doing it, which is the mindset he needs going into the Abraham fight. I hope that's what he does.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts about the fight:

No!!!! Hops beat Calslappy but that doesnt have anything to do with this fight cause Calz didnt really land that many shots, if any at all. Hops Calsappy's fight was boring but Dirrel vs froch actually had excitement. Not all fighters have the same amount of power so thats why there are so many different styles. People cant hate on boxers cause its really hard to immitate a Floyd or hopkins!!! It takes many years in the gym to get to that skill level. A lot of sluggers wish they had the defense hops and floyd have
