They mean something and they mean nothing there adam. Its a bargaining chip and thats about it. Its all down to how you use it. So its up to them what they make of it. Heres hoping they do push on with it.

Sounds like a good night tonight anyway. Long - Fitzgerald sounds like it didn't let anyone down. Glad it was a competitive night and a great spectacle. Fair play to all involved

It was great night. Id like to see spike or Ciaran Healy defend the Irish Title against either Robbie Long or Anto Fitzgerald as i reckon Robbie and Anto would stop Spike or Healy

First off I'm just glad to hear that tonight's card turned out to be a very good one(would of hoped for a slightly higher attendance).

However no Adam it doesn't prove the IBF International title means anything and I'm surprised you'd say that after having been lied to by the IBF. Neither Pajo or Eddie are ranked by the IBF despite the promise of one of their surpervisors.

The reason Adamek fought for it tonight is because he's IBF Cruiserweight champion and by paying them a sanctioning fee for essentially no reason(cause the belt itself is worthless) for his first fight at heavy, he keeps them happy and ensures a decent Heavyweight ranking when next month's rankings are announced.

Both Pajo and Eddie hold valuable and credible titles......the Irish titles.
I mean IBF International champion, what exactly does that make you ?, because your not the World champ(that's the regular IBF champion) in the IBF's eyes, and it's not a regional title(eg USBA, IBF-Africa). So it makes you champion of what exactly.

I like both Patrick and Eddie, they're good fighters and they're entertaining fighters but for god sake don't talk up those crappy trinkets they won as meaning anything. Beating the men they beat for those titles means a lot more than the piece of metal they received for doing so.

Anyway with Long-Fitzgerald set at 1 a piece I think we should let both of them build their careers for a while and then have a final winner takes all showdown for the(prestigious) Irish title.

i dont think they would stop spike imo

    anyways

    FIGHT OF THE YEAR!!!!

    what a scrap

Anto Fitz won by using his brain rather than being dragged into a complete brawl

I feel if there was no knock down the fight would have went to the wire completely

IMO a rubber match will be on the cards some time next year

Anto Fitz has shown he has really learned from his two losses

He showed fantastic boxing skills at times and made long miss punches at vital points in the fight

I agree with you BigEars the IBF international title means sweet **** all

However.......... It is a name that casual fans associate with a credible sanctioning body. The irish donestic scene is hardly what i would call compeditive the casual fans know this however the IBF is a sanctioning body that casual fans feel is credible so when they see IBF international champ they feel it is something special. I gaurentee that 9/10 casual fans quized on the street would feel that the IBF international title means more in regards to boxing on the world stage than the Irish title would.

and at the end of the day it puts asses in seats

lets not forget ricky hattons wbu days!

    Oh and as regards adamek

I spoke with him a few weeks back and we talked about the IBF international title

He described it as him "still being a member of the IBF family"
