I missed the fight but Dirrel musta been boxing his ass off. Did he look good winning or did it look like he was running?
My 2 cents on this fight, which I just watched, is that this was that of course Dirrell was robbed. I actually read ESB forum comments before watching the fight, and expected to see Dirrell run and avoid engaging and see Froch fight very dirty. I saw neither. To begin with, while I strongly dislike Froch and his attitude, I didn't think he was fight that dirty, there were some rabbit punches but Dirrell dropped his head when he was weaving, and kind of set himself up for many, Froch did hold him and hit him behind the head a few times but it didn't seem as malicious as some on here made it out to be. Secondly, Dirrell did not run, he engaged. I saw Froch taking steps back for much of the fight, and Dirrell had him on the ropes and hurt quite a few times. If being defensive and applying smart pressure instead of endless pressure is running, then thats ridiculous. I wasn't aware a fighter had to fight like Erik Morales to not be running. (I love Erik btw).
No Beause Joe really did not land all of those punches, and the punches he did land were not effective at all and never flush
Dirrell would make a good dodgeball player. Good at running ,diving and avoiding contact. This content is protected
There were no official punch stats - it's just some sad tosser who counted one by one, probably ignoring glancing blows from Froch and counting punches landing on Froch's arms for Dirrell. Really, who cares? It was an awful fight - Dirrell could have made it wide, but decided he could just coast. He wasn't cheated by the judges, he cheated himself. Get over it.
The jokes over now folkes it wasnt funny the first time someone posted that Bhop beat Joe and now it definately isnt funny, the difference between what bhop did and what direll did was, direll threw more punches and landed most of them. Bhop was too busy grabbing joe and feigning injury to bother wanting to fight joe. For a reigning light heavy ring belt holder to do those tactics were a disgrace, Bhop didnt deserve to win the fight and thats obviously what the judges saw as well. People just cant get over the fact the great man lost that fight and so keep harping back to the night they think he was robbed. Perhaps if he did less holding, feigning injury and complaining he may well have had a better chance to win. Bhop is a clever fighter and knew he had to nulify the pressure calzaghe would bring and close the distance between them to not let calzaghe use movement and distance as that would have played into calzaghes hands. But you must also attempt to fight and thats something Bhop didnt do. Bhop won the fight dont make me laugh
