Cotto... he took a sustained 11 round ass-whopping where he was hurt many times over several rounds and ended up severely bruised and cut up all over his face.. With Margo he didn't even take that much of an overall beating. He was walking through many of Mosley's punches up until he got tired from all of Shane's clinching and rough house tactics and finally went down prety quickly after that.

The last few rounds were worse because of the state of Cotto's face, and we all know deep down why that happened. But Cotto was controlling the first half of the fight, he just took plaster-punishment in the last few rounds. 'Manos De Plaster' took a sustained 9 round arse-whooping from Sugar Shane Mosley with right hands literally bouncing off his head for about half an hour.
Margarito. Cotto was doing okay until the last few rounds. Margarito was peppered with combinations and ate huge shots all night against Shane.
I voted Margarito. Don't forget, not only did Marg get knocked out, but his aura of invincibility got shattered. It wasn't so much that he lost, but no one expected him to get beaten into helplessness. His main asset was his toughness , and now thats gone. Cotto on the other hand has come back with wins, and is on the verge of his biggest fight ever. In contrast, Maragarito sits in a state of inactive discrace. When Tony does come back, he's obviously damaged physically and spiritually. No doubt, Marg took a much worse beating.
So are you saying that Margarito ended up worse for wear than Cotto after their fight in July of 2008? Please ellaborate.
if anything, the worst beating was the beating that Margarito took in the COTTO fight not the Mosley fight.
