I lived inside and beside boxing rings in the 80's and 90's. I do possess every Joe Louis fight filmed (to my knowledge) and enjoy watching them regularly. And I do believe Janitor is younger than me. Another sad attempt at a rebuttal.
I dont see how so many people pick Louis by KO, because i've never even seen Klitchsko in serious trouble or knocked down, but having said that I would still pick Louis by clear UD because his combinations would pick apart a methodical Klitchsko all night long
No way Louis drops Vitali! Anyhting it would be the other way around. Louis has been dropped what 8 times and by lesser punchers who fought Vitali! As for Sanders, He fought hard-headed Jorge Valdez who he took out in 2 while it took Ike I like 8. I have some of hos older fights b4 he became so ****ing lazy. He was an exceptional athlete like Rugby and track. Should of left for the states,tho. What a waste.
You need to calm yourself with this notion of your own exhausted superiority, or if you're going to persist with it, at least try to understand what is being discussed, or preferably right. Janitor's original point was about certain styles - namely those of Lennox Lewis, Muhammad Ali, and possibly, by inferance, Vitali Klitschko. Your response derided Janitor's point as some sort of embarrassment when it was entirely accurate because you objected to one possibly interpretation - yours - as it's being an attack on Vitali. Here's another one. Janders is saying living through the era is condusive to understanding Janitor's point. I disagree with him, but I see his point. In your response you point out that you are older than Janitor. So what? What does that have to do with anything, at all? It's in now way relevant. Like being "slightly nearer" in terms of causality makes you more qualified than Janitor to understand Janders poinit!! "A sad attempt at a rebuttal"? How is Janders being alive during this period a rebuttal? And how is his pointing this out in defence of one of the forum's respected members against a known troll ever going to be pathetic? I won't hold my breath for an answer to any of these questions, i'm sure it was all pointless and very exhausting for you to read such is your inherant superiority, but know this; there are plenty of posts with no redeeming qualities in this thread and some of yours are amongst them.
People who think a pre-war 200lbs. HW could KO Vitali is simply ******ed. Klitscko KO Louis. This is boxing of the 21st century and not a nostalgia-show. Louis 30´es style is completely wrong to compete with Klitschko or Lennox or Tyson or...whoever. Watch these old tapes. Louis is almost without a defense, his hands at his waists. His boxing style is made for the 30´es but not for todays HW-machines. He gets KTFO by a world class 21st century HW. No discussion. These nostalgia freaks who think Joe Louis is invincible make me laugh and shake my head all the time. No sense for the reality. Louis has the bigger resume than Vitali, but H2H.....come on....Vitali owns Louis.
To generalize by generation is the first sign of a lack of knowledge. You have a James Corbett and you have a Marvin Hart. You have a Stanley Ketchel and you have a Joe Gans or a Jack Blackburn. Joe Louis had a timeless, classic style. He was as deadly a two handed puncher as any man who ever lived. To say he had no chance against a very good and tough but clearly limited Vitali is a joke.
Explain why so many heavyweights are fat and out of shape then, considering they're privy to 21st century training and all.
