Add to this list of achievements!!!

Calzaghe was just an honorary captain for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers at today's NFL game.

LOL at you guys. You absolutely kill me with the way you rag on Calzaghe and nobody else since Lewis is anywhere near his achievements and its debateable if anybody since Buchanan and before Lewis is either. If only you judged everybody else by these standards, this place would be a graveyard for Brit fighters.

It's just because you know its so true. Calzaghe is so accomplished and so skilled in comparison to other Brits yet his treatment is completely disproportional. I like to think its a backhanded compliment, you all know he was so good that you expected more in his career. That's okay, me too :yep:deal

:good I agree with you but the last point is wrong.

Max Schmeliing-Walter Neusel had a 102,000 attendance in Nazi Germany. All-Aryan domestic clash and all that :yep.

Seriously, Joe gets too much criticism from some on here. He accomplished a hell of a lot and the only gripe is he could have done even more with his talent.

TFFP - I've always said he was very talented however he never pit his skills against the best in their prime for me. My gripe is more with his fanboys and his Dad. And the fact he took that Jones fight instead of rematching Bernard

He should have fought Pavlik instead of Jones but there was probably more £££ to be made against Jones.

His dad  How does that guy annoy you? He cracks me up...but then again I can't understand him...but you just wind him up and he goes.

Calzaghe could and should have done more. In general you can say that for everyone but Calzaghe especially could have squeezed in a number of better fights over the course of his long career. A Glen Johnson fight should have gone through at some point (even though his record at SMW was ****), they shoulda moved heaven and earth to get Ottke, a Chad Dawson at the end. Those 3 names would have helped no end but ultimately I'm sure there always would be complaints until he lost.
