Can Andre Dirrell last the full fight with Arthur Abraham?

Abraham has been the distance with far less elusive fighters than Dirrell. Plus: even if you think his defence is *****/crude, it's more effective than Taylor's, and Taylor was 10 seconds away from going the distance with AA. He may be a big puncher, but he's not a big lander; and, if you can't land, you can't get a KO.

 

His only sloppy moments were where he started running and got caught. If he uses his natural ability to slip punches, I don't see how he'll do any worse than Taylor, whose head movement has gone to rat**** and leaves massive holes in his guard. People seem to be very easily influenced by the last performance or by an aesthetically impacting KO. AA may have showed he has an iron punch, but he also showed that if your defence is 10 seconds better than that of Jermain Taylor, the worst you'll end up with is a pretty mild points loss.

As a huge AA supporter, I WILL NOT WATCH THIS FIGHT NOR CARE FOR IT. I actually will not watch another Direll fight and to be honest Arthur will get his first loss against Direll. Direll is what he is, a very athletic boxer that is afraid to get hit, I understand the sweet science but I would rather watch Floyd apply it. Direll vs AA will be the most ugly fight of 2010 and Direll will probably win a point decision.
Fortunately, AA vs Froch will compensate for the above!!!!!:happy

 

Dirrell would use his size and reach advantages MUCH more effectively than JT did

 

Can't see how AA can catch Dirrell really. Think will see him run faster than ever. But then again I can't see how Dirrell will commit to attacking pass AA's guard. Probably the most boringest fight ever and all we'll see is Dirrell keeping AA out of range, hitting AA's gloves a few times then run like hell.

If Dirrell slips in a few punches and run like hell and get a decision.. it will be the death of boxing.

 

AA vs. Froch won't be that exciting, since AA will just knock his lights out whenever he wants. It'll just be like AA vs. Miranda II (perhaps with the added excitement of seeing Froch's gold-digger have a heart attack when her man's head ends up in the third row).

 

I already posted my thoughts about this fight itrymariti, it will AA's easisest fight of the tournament. Froch has not changed his defense one bit, his jaw being made of steel has also been proven false. AA will open up in the later rounds and KHTFO!!!!! Agree with you it!!!!!!:good

 

he can if the ring is big- might be as the fight is in the US- and if he runs. I think if AA lands anything on dirrel he will hurt him-arms, body anywhere. AA has a sneaky right that he used to perfection against Miranda and JT. If dirrel pulls his bend over and hide routine, I look for a massive uppercut to end it.

 

Depends. Wehen he fights to survive he will last till the end. If he fights to win, he´ll get (T)KOed. Since this is about winning I think the latter will be more realistic.

 

Fair points. Froch/Dirrell was a hideous fight, so I'm probably under rating Dirrell.

AA is much better than Froch on so many different things that Dirrell exploited...

AA can Counter
AA has a good left hand
AA is quicker and more explosive
AA finds better range

 

You should have added more choices to this POLL.

Problem here is this.
Taylor out boxed Froch easily till the end. Abraham outboxed Taylor until he KO'd Taylor at the end. Dirrel ran a minimum of 7 rounds. The main punches he landed were from Froch being frustrated and jumping in.
Abraham will do his "thing"
and walk on Dirrel while Dirrel waste punch's to Abrahams gloves and arms. When he tries to get close to hook he will throw. Abraham hits harder than Froch. And Froch was connecting.
Unfortunately this is a case of experience.
Dirrel would have done better NOT to join the Super 6 but rather stay busy in the division building an opportunity to fight the winner AFTER the tourney. THAT is the BIG money fight from all of this. Though the money IN the tourney seems pretty good as well.

 

This fight is going to go the distance, no doubt about it.

If he ran all night to get away from Froch's punches, what the hell do you think he's going to do in against Abraham.

Rumour has it Dirrell isn't going to have a stool in his corner, he's going to have a starting block instead.
