it was necessary for HBO to focus on the typhoons because if you are really watching, it affected pac's training. he had about days of no road work and tried substituting swimming for several minutes but not succesful. some boxing fans are bored when theres no nasty stuff to do or trash-talking, we are getting here the exact scenarios in the boxer's camps and what they needed to do to continue training despite of unfavorable circumstances.

my general sense was that it was the worst 24/7 ive seen... even the calzaghe jones ones i found more interesting because roy always has a good personality

i watched the whole episode but it was the first 24/7 i ever got the urge to switch off in the middle of it... it had zero intensity

    Dull, dull, dull.

Pacman and Cotto have ZERO personality. They just answer the questions as politically correct as possible. He's a cherry picker but give me PBF for 24/7s. He talks trash and that spicens things up.

I think Freddy is trying to make it look like a soap opera with all the drama of distractions money getting to Mannys head etc.... I think its all one big wool blanket, I dont buy it, I do not and will not buy that Manny is not focused.....

That's what I was thinking, **** you learn something new everyday. I thought it was a bit of a letdown but it's only the first episode. I expect it to improve and it'll be better than Mayweather/Marquez.

I like Cotto's focus. He said something like ..

'Pacquaio is just another fighter coming to my division and challenging me for my title'

Cotto is going to look great!

cotto can only win if he comes to fight, in this episode there was nothing on cotto's strategy so i want him to win but don't yet beleive he can if he fights like he has been doing for the last 2 years. he needs to go back to being a seek and destroy fighter and not try to get to smart by being a boxer.

Never, ever judge a fight based on the 24/7s.

Honestly i believe Pac Cotto will do great numbers but to say PBF isnt an attraction is just nonsense....his numbers speak for themselves even a non-fan of Floyd has to recognize that.

I've always felt that way about this matchup... they need to sell this fight differently.

Why are boxing fans excited about this matchup? Mostly because they've seen each of these guys in great fights against mostly top flight opponents. Everyone knows both of these guys bring it when it is time to go.

I think to sell this to casual fans you need to sell the career work of these fighters and show they are still in top form and the best is yet to come. The good part here is this fight isn't smoke and mirrors and you can prove it by showing these fighters in past battles (plus current training).

I know if I was a casual fan I would feel pretty skeptical about 24/7 when I keep getting sold an action fight and delivered a clinic. They need to emphasize how powerful and dangerous these guys are and toss aside most of the contrived drama.

I feel like 24/7 has been crying wolf for a while and maybe nobody cares anymore when the wolf finally comes (until after the fact).

I could really care less if this PPV sells more than Mayweather/Marquez.
This is the best fight of the year and will be the better fight to watch.
In the end, thats all that counts.

The 24/7 is also more intriguing because you have two fighters who are preparing for a more competitive fight. I think this is going to be one of
there better 24/7 series as already stated by HBO. :good

I enjoy watching these 24/7's, i realize the purpose is to hype the upcoming fights. It's cool to get a look at the fighters lives and sacrifices leading up the fight.

I can't believe that Manny is barley learning how to swim! I have never met a Pinoy from the island that didn't know how to swim, that's a trip.

If you watch closely there are very subtle things that should catch your eye.

For example: Marquez looked very flat and bloated in training. He had no speed, and also had very poor sparring partners. Even Baristan did not
look completely convinced of the transformation in weight and speed.
Simple things that are pointed out even more on the extra footage provided in 24/7.
