and Jeff Thomes will remember having a debate with me where i said i never really rated moore but thought he looked better in his recent fights.

british fighters seem to put to much emphasis on body shots. its an easy way to stop the crap journeyman that our prospects fight for 3 years before being tested. its quite rare to see body shots being used all the time by world class fighters.

Perhaps if you didn't always come across as a know it all twat, people wouldn't say it. Besides, I've no inclination to try and decipher your illiterate posts.

He saw too many Hatton vids and thought he was a similar deal instead of just a cheap imitation. Rhodes had the class and Moore the hype.

Obviously any bodyshot that I have seen in world title fights etc must just have been a badly thrown head shot :thumbsup

Look the bottom line is that excuses are being made for Jamie when he has stated unequivocably THERE ARE NO EXCUSES.
He got beat by the better man on the night.
    GET OVER IT.

Body shots are the key that turns any fight, you've got to have the skill to get in on you're opponent, just watch these 3 legends at work:bbb

Roberto Duran, JC Chavez & Wilfredo Gomez:deal

For once I have to say I disagree with you here. No flaming, just that I think body shots are very important when used in a complete arsenal......sadly neither head nor body shots did much to dissuafe Rhodes who hung in there and had a second wind when required:good

the queston was "why are british fighters so one dimensional"

my answer was that they go to the body to much. I am sure if you look at statistics, British Fighters will throw a much higher percentage of body shots compared to other fighters.

Body shots are generally used to open up an opponent and ware them down. Allot of times on a friday fight night i see fighters just going to the body to get the stoppage, this works agaisnt shitty eastern europeans and afrobums but not agaisnt decent oppo.

Infact I think Jamie Moore last few fights were stopped after a show to the body.

I wasnt saying that body shots are pointless, just that british fighter throw to many or rely on them to much, making them no as effective.

A bit harsh there, dan. Rob's posts are often complete nonsense, like when he said Amin Asikainen was a warrior, but he does give me a good laugh.

be fair i am half finnish, if you were from a country thats had 1 decent boxer for the past...................forever you would rate him highly and defend him.

also watch some of his fights, the guy is a warrior!

maybe some of my posts are nonsense but i called this fight for Rhodes the day it was announced and said Moore had bulked up to much. You no Dan B is gonna be pissed off when he read the link i posted to a thread before the fight!!
