Calzaghe fans -- desperate to prove his legacy

Good point. The fact that his fans are doing these things to justify his legacy, tells you one thing.....they too feel he underachieved.

 

Of course he was an underachiever, in a weak div., who never proved much regardless what the nuthuggers say , history will not shine bright on his star!!!!:-(

 

his fans don't have to do it he proved it himself and this is coming from someone who supposedly 'hates' British fighters. Calzaghe is a legit ATG.

 

I'd have to agree. He was a good fighter but if he was a champion in a strong division or a multi-weight champion, he would be better regarded, IMO.

The reason we want to prove his legacy is because everyone eles doesnt see what we do in Joe. We all know joe has ATG talent just not an ATG legacy

 

It's a legitimate question/topic to raise at the moment considering recent events.

 

It isn't surprising considering arguably his best win (Kessler) is still in the prime of his career and could greatly enhance his own legacy (in turn improving the win on Joe's resume). The fact is he retired undefeated and copped a lot of hate for a fair while, opinions of him will likely only improve as time goes on.

But yes some of his fans are partially ******ed and need to find some diversity in boxing.

 

He was a multi-weight champion if you count the ring light-heavy!

There are always two sides to a story. Whilst his critics say he took too long to fight anyone you could argue no-one wanted to fight him. Nobody ever gets on the backs of american fighters for never leaving the states. Also funny how every time he beat a legit american contender they suddenly became overated!

How many legit American contenders did Calzaghe beat?

 

I think Calzaghe has proven his legacy already rather than his fans trying to do it.

 

Kessler is his saving grace!!!! Andre Ward will probably put Calzaghe's career in perspective!!!
