I've heard Bowe wants the rematch ... it would probably bring
bigger $$$ than any other non-title fight out there :D

Nah, he can still be a gate keeper. Just ask Kevin McBride and Mike Mollo.

Hey, if Oliver McCall and Lance Whitaker can throw down, no one should give Golota a hard time if he wants to contine.

Also, I believe Golota said he's done with boxing, so I guess none of this matters

Obviously Gol wasn't very pissed after the Adamek loss cause BoxRec still has him number 60 at world rating. :hey

Golota should retire. This is in reality his first loss that he has no excuses. If you look at his other loses:

Riddic Bowe I (winning the fight, DQ for low blows)
Riddick Bowe II (winning the fight DQ for low blows)
Lennox Lewis (not warmed up, mentally unprepared, caught early)
Micheal Grant (winning the fight, quit for bizzarre reasosn)
    Mike Tyson (quit after KD)
    John Ruiz (win in reality)
Lamon Brewster (caught early, shoes too small)
    Ray Austin (injury)

There was always what if. What if he didnt punch Bowe in the nuts, what if he was properly warmed up and mentally stable for Lewis, what if he continued with Grant, what if he didnt quit with Tyson, what if the judges werent blind in Ruiz fight, what if the judges werent blind in Byrd fight, what if he had proper shoes and wasnt caught with Brewster, what if he didnt get injured against Austin.

This time there is no what if, he was systematiccaly beaten in every round, knocked down multiple times, had his chance to mount an offensice attack and just couldnt do anything.

If he had retired after Tyson he would have never been the uncrowned unified WBA and IBF world champion by beating Chris Byrd and John Ruiz. :deal

Not true. He did very well against Byrd & Ruiz only to get ripped off. BIGTIME in the Byrd fight!

I laughed when I read this but there was an interview with Golota where he said that after the warm up he was forced to wait in the hall for a long time before the Brewster fight, where it was cold and lost his boxing shoes and had to replace them with ones that were too small for him.

    BS.

He was a contender several years after and should have had a title belt around his waist.

Shoes were too big in Andrew's opinion and that caused his footwork meant a ****.

He really explained his loss this way...

To the topic, I really would like see him to retire. He has done a lot, I really appreciate, I don't regret waking up at 4am to see him got beaten by Brewster, watching him leaving the ring in Auburn Palace etc. I'm gonna remember him as a great fighter with very good jab, which destroyed the defence of Riddick Bowe, Corey Sanders and Michael Grant - great fights. Andrew is Polish legend of boxing and sports. It's enough what he has done, time to lay on the couch with remote controler in hand and bottle of beer on the table.

They should start a masters division for guys like Golota, Holyfield, Mccall, Botha, , Toney, Maskaev, Matt Skelton, Monte Barrett. That would be pretty cool.
