I can only assume that you don't live here mate.
Before he was a fighter, he was known as the human headline.
He behaved like a selfish spoiled brat with the ego of a Hollywood emptyhead, & nobody was immune to his bombacity.

The hypocrisy of his mother-earth Aboriginality & his desertion to Islam, along with his influential denigration of the non aboriginal community was particularly inciting to young Aboriginal kids who revered him.
Ironically, I understand his resentment mainly because his mother is white & being married to Tony back then would not have been easy for her.

I am told by those who mix with him that he is humble, caring & popular.

By his own actions, he does not know where the line is between self promotion & outright fraud.

His product is akin to a chinese sweatshop that cares more about the machinery than what they make.
He has strung those along that believe in him & constantly took their money & delivered shabby results.

Personally I think about him very little, because as an Australian I have an embedded loyalty that is constantly let down.

Some like to blame his manager Khoder Nasser for his fraudulent pursuit of wealth, but Choc will be the first to tell you, he is the master of his own destiny, so he wears the hat, no one else.

As an old bloke who revered his father Tony, it cuts a bit deeper than normal because the Mundine name was of a genuine fighter whose era was was so much tougher, & I just feel his abuse on those things is tragic.

Good luck to him, but his legacy suggests he'll be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Fraudulent behaviour runs deep with me, I absolutely loath bullshitters and Mandy is one of the best.

I recognise his talent, and damn talented he is, however he's wasted it to a point that he's even lost many die hard fans.

Aside from young Geale, when was his last proper challenge.......

Hes got to the highest paid player in the NRL and was one of the most entertaining in the game

Now hes near the top in boxing top 5 to 10 and again loads of $$$$ and great skill.

Its all about promotion, trash talking and the show.....Mundine aint no P4P great and never will be but solid world top 5 is great for an aussie fighter....lets face it we dont have many homegrown top 10's.

Dont worry about Sally mate hes a Mundine nut hugger from way back.

Talking about nut huggers this site is full of them....most still in the closet.....like Marcus who's thinking of moving to Redfern so he can hang out at boxa cafe and try to get a glimpse of Mundine.

Leon has every Mundine fight and huge posters on his wall....Flamingo is writing a book about Mundine and Phil's thinking of quitting the IBO because he cant handle not professing his undying support for choc.

I was prepared to give Mundine a lot of leeway with his media persona and even his career path because everyone that knew him personally would say that he is the polar opposite in private. just like Rodin said, a very humble, generous bloke.

Here's the thing though...that doesn't exonerate him from being an outright public fraud. the two can be separated and criitiqued accordingly.
