Floyd fought the worst version of Marquez. JMM was unable to carry his power two divisions higher and the excess poundage obviously slowed him down and made him sluggish and very tentative in throwing his usual 4-5 punch combinations. Even the old Casamayor whom JMM had KOd before would slaughter that version of Marquez. Floyd did not prove anything in that fight except his cowardice in fighting an opponent on a level playing field.

This is silly! If one couldn't lose his p4p best status on retirement, then Floyd could've remained retired and be the best p4p forever! Yes Pac had KO losses early in his career but he had risen from those losses to become one of the best fighters of this era.

 

Yeah, Floyd outclassed a classy fighter who is two divisions lower than him and who he outweighed by at least 10 lbs at fight time.

 

It's true, many believe their own lies that JMM beat Pac twice but the fact remains that the 1st fight was a draw (due to scoring error favoring JMM) and the 2nd was won by Pac.:yep

Hatton was competitive in the early goings and almost KD Floyd in the third, Floyd's good balance saved him from falling. Surely, it's far from schooling. Yes Floyd KOd Hatton in the 10th but not without the help of the ring post. Pac dominated Hatton and KOd him in the 2nd round with only his fists.:good

 

Pac is still the best fighter right now. Even if Floyd had beaten Pac, he will never be number one again until he beat a top welterweight in a true sense of it. Pac, like JMM, is not a welterweight but a blown up lightweight at best.

I didn't forget Pac lost to Morales neither his early losses. I think Pac did well despite losing to Erik in their first fight. It was the first time that I saw Pac's warrior heart going 8 competitive rounds with only one eye against such formidable opponent. I had watched Pac early losses on TV. The first one was when he was a lanky teenage fighter fighting a fully grown man. Pac had a good raw talents but was malnourished, poorly trained and cocky. He mauled Torrecampo in rds 1 and 2 but got careless and was KOd with a single punch in the 3rd. Pac's 2nd loss was the 2nd defense of his WBC 112 belt against Singsurat. He failed to make the weight and lost his belt before the fight. weakened by efforts to lose 3 or 4 lbs in a short time, Pac was compelled to fight to avoid huge penalty. He did nothing but run around Singsurat while throwing meaningless punches and winced in pain for every shot thrown by Singsurat to his body til he dropped in the 3rd. His handlers made excuses such as defective scale but local experts knew better. Pac might had outgrown the weight but his handlers failed to watch him carefully and certainly Pac deserved to lose those fights. I believe Pac had learned his lessons from those losses which transformed him into a kind of fighter and to some measure a kind of person he is now.

 

Floyd was the best boxer before and yes he has the best skills capable of making the best of all time. Yes, he can be numero uno of all time with those great skills! Unfortunately, Floyd had apparently lost his guts to test his skills against greater challenges and because of that he will never be number one again.
