Are all rounds that I scored for Machida. It was a good fight. Shogun looked great. But i don't think you can watch those rounds individually and say that there's no way Machida won them.

Round 1 was the closest. Round 2 was pretty clear imo. In round 5, even though Machida's body language was dead he still landed some really hard shots and pulled it off by some distance imo.

If you have the fight on your computer, watch those rounds again and then give your reply.

The only problem I have with round 1 is that while Machida's defense was consistent throughout, his offense was limited to that great volley of knees that he began with, and that spectacular head kick - all of which came in the first 2 minutes. Nothing else of note really landed for him in that round.

Also, it was a case of "great defense, better offense".

I was rooting hard for Machida and just can't see giving him that round.

Of course, I haven't watched it since the live broadcast. Been meaning to. Good fight (and a shame that it's overshadowed by all the debate).

How can you score round 5 for MAchida?? He did **** in that round.

MAchida to me won the first three. Some might say that all three rounds are toss-ups and I can understand that. But Shogun won rds 4 and 5 without a shadow of a doubt.

I gave rounds 1 and 5 to Shogun and round 2 was REALLY close. When I first saw it I had it even, Machida winning the first half and Shogun the second, but upon rewatching it I gave it to Shogun. Nothing Machida did seemed to damage Shogun at all, but Shogun damaged Machida.

Even with the sound off, Shogun was the more effective in the first two rounds. That isn't to say he was getting everything his way or that Machida wasn't effective - Rua was just more effective.

    I had round 1 and 2 a toss-up

3 clearly for Machida and 4-5 clear for Rua.

lol round 5? Come on PH, I know you can score better than this. I was rooting for Machida to come back strong but was disappointed. The round he clearly won I thought was round 3, rounds 1, 2 were edged by Shogun and I was really trying to give Machida the benefit of the doubt. To be honest, scoring either round 1 or 2 would feel like "giving" him the round despite the other guy landing the more telling blows. Look at his legs, his body, and body language throughout. it was obvious who was landing the more telling blows. The mistake he made in trying to avoid the leg kicks was to only try to elude the kick by moving out of distance, but it seemed Shogun was ready for this as he would chase him down like he was chasing a soccer ball and would continue kicking. I guess its unfair to call it a mistake considering this method of defense has been successful for him in the past, so I think all we can say is he didn't make the necessary adjustments early on before it became too late and it took its effect.

Round 5 was the clearest round for shogun.

I agree Machida clearly won round 3 and Shogun clearly won rounds 4 and 5.
Rounds 1 and 2 were damn close.

In this case, what counted was that the challenger had to take the belt from the champion.

Thanks, you`ve just admitted Shogun won the fight.....

The reason ?..... Shogun without doubt won rds 4 & 5, not even those fat corrupt **** judges gave Machida rd 5, not one of them.

Once he rewatches rd 5 with his eyes open & scores it for Rua (like any non-****) he`ll likely give Machida rd 3, that way Machida still wins - on his card.

Shogun won the fight, he was robbed. He gave machida a beating with those leg kicks to the body and to the legs.

I've seen a few other people on other MMA forums with this scorecard, and I just don't get it. How could you possibly have given the last round to Machida? I can sort of understand the case for the first two rounds (even though I didn't score them that way myself), but the fifth? :huh
