Now I get it. Only difference is we'll be rooting for different men come fight night.

But hey, may the best man win, in any case! :good

    Not necessarily.

I'm a fan of both boxers.

I haven't decided which to root for yet.

Probably neither, I'll just enjoy the fight.

(I have the same dilemma with AA and Taylor. I'm a fan of both.)

Now why couldn't Pac be fighting Mayweather, and AA be fighting Pavlik.

    Then I'd be rooting !

    Agreed !:good

Ah, that's where I won't be having problems.

I'm a Cotto fan and a JT fan. The thing is, there's a good chance they'll both lose. :blood

If Pac doesn't want to fight for the welterwt title at 147, it makes it seem like he lacks the confidence to win this fight.

    That's what I think.

I'll explain it to you this way bud. :D

We all know that the alphabet belts doesn't mean so much these days but winning belts and titles in 7 different weight classes is something that hasn't been accomplished before so . . . the belt is an important catalyst for Pacquiao to achive his goal.

In term . . . if the belt will not be on the line . . . Pac is really fighting for nothing. :yep

yeah, thats pretty much what he's after, more money...

but regardless, i'm sure this fight will come through since this both fighters best option since:

    - Floyd wont fight Cotto and he wont fight Pac

    - Mosley wont rematch Cotto under Cotto's terms and Pac beating Mosley at 140 would only tarnish his legacy IMO

so this is clearly each others best option, so yeah....all we gotta do is wait to see who gives in first, i'm sure one of them will

I hope that people now understand this simple concept.

There is already a 24/7 episode, and promotion for this fight. This is gonna happen or there will be alot of money lost.

i wonder why 24/7 hasn't gone more into the fight being at a catchweight.

cuz it'll make Roach look like a tool?

yeah I don't see why title potentially not being on the line would fall on Cotto's lacking confidence

Miguel isn't the one making the fight at 145

Cotto in no way is responsible for this..if i was him i wouldnt either....Roach and Pac should have thought of all this when they made the catchweight....they want the tittle fine but no catch weight they should not havemade negotiations like that....thats their fault and its a shame for them to throw this into the plans now when the fight is right around the corner thats terrible buisiness.

no. 147 is the weight, not 145.

in all fairness I though it was known from the get go that Manny wouldn't fight a Welterweight at the full limit

as I recall seeing a video on boxingtalk or whatever where Roach had this ridiculous stance of only fighting Mosley at 142

based on that alone, fighting Cotto was never going to be at straight up Welter, no way no how.

All that changed. Cotto will stake his title.
