I agree with some others on this thread. Big O will likley lose to Austin and Austin would easily beat Haye by KO. Looks like after Vitali beats up on johnson he will ahve the luxury of knocking out Austin as well. Austin is a good puncher with a lot of power.

 

Read that Arreola might fight Austin. Vlad stopped Austin in the second round without throwing one right hand. He landed five left hooks, very quickly.

 

Well lets look at the other contenders

Alexander Povetkin has fought only twice since becoming mandatory for Wlad's IBF title, he will fight another interim matchup again most likely against Samuel Peter.

Kevin Johnson is a prospect who hasn't fought anybody
Denis Boystov is still a prospect not ready for a title shot
Eddie Chambers vs Wladimir Klitschko won't happen until next year of March because Wladimir is injured.

Then there is Tomasz Admaek, I would say Adamek deserves a shot against Vitali Klitschko.

 

Austin is a bit underrated, despite getting ktfo by Wlad, who only used his left hand in the whole fight. He went life and death with Ibragimov, floored Golota with the first punch and was the only one to stop Cisse Salif. No need to bring him to the ring with Vitali, it would be very onesided.

 

By beating ancient Golota?

As long as Maskaev trains hard, I think he will take Austin. Oleg is not as bad as everyone says. His last KO loss was against Peter, but he was still on his feet.

 

I agree. Maskaev's career was handled as badly as you can handle a fighter and he still came out with some good high points. It wasn't that long ago that he was champion either. He's well past his best but he's always pretty dangerous and I can't imagine it wouldn't be at least a little sweet for Vitali to avenge even an amateur loss. I mean, since he's the wayyyy clear favorite from the get go and all, I would think he wouldn't mind settling an old score. A little old score but still.
