Not sure which of the 2 fighters will win, but boxing would be the loser if this fight were to happen as it would be a stinker. Mind you the Germans seem to like a boring fight(er), soit may go down well over there
STEP UP? He just fought the top of the RING ranking in middleweight (besides Abraham and Pavlik) in his last fights in Gevor and Sylvester. How can a past prime Winky be a step up? :think This Sturm hating is just ridiculous....
I think Sturm could possibly win this. Winky is finished. Two similar fighters in terms of a tight guard and jab, but Sturm is just more primed and is probably a better mover than Winky at this point, who's footspeed was gone against Williams.
Maybe you're right but I think the Winky that showed up against Williams wasn't all that bad. Of course he's well past it but I think the shape he was in would've beaten a lot of middleweights out there. Maybe Sturm too. You have to admit the style match-up may have made Wright look a little worse off than he really was? Williams is an impressive young work horse fighter. If Winky had been in against a Sturm on that night, I give him good odds. We'd get a better perspective seeing Wright step in the ring again since Paul. It looks like he might be up against Grady Brewer in December.
Dude, fighting Sylv and Gevor don't mean Sturm step up. Those 2 fighters are not even close to Wright level and those 2 fighters are not close to better then Wright. Anyway It sucks Wright vs Sturm is not happening cause if it happens, my money is on Wright to easily beat Sturm and after that happens, i dare anybody that say Williams beat an old shot Wright.
Winky is finish? lol. Why cause he easily lost to Williams? At this stage i could easily see Wright beat Sturm. Sturm is nothing to brag about. Atleast Wright didn't barely beat fighters like Griffin and Gevor and Wright wasn't tko by freaking Castillejo.
Winky still has enough in the tank to beat Sturm. Would have made more sense for Williams to fight him to set up a unification bout with Pavlik next year.
