Why is Julio Cesar Chavez ahead of a man that dominated him, and more importantly, why would he ever be a top 10 fighter?

my list are based hugely on a Hd 2 Hd basis and peformance so on that criteria Sweet Pea's a lock for top 10 in my opinion, he is one of the hardest men to beat ever.

Surely thats not the whole picture? Whitaker would need to do much more than dominate Chavez in a single fight to be ahead of him "pound for pound". I think Whitaker is slightly above Chavez. But the fight between them isn't the "be all and end all" of who should be ranked the highest.

Who said it was the whole picture? :huh If I went through the reasons as to why I disagree with him, I'd just be repeating what has already been said in the same thread already.

Because even if they were pretty close in achievements, which they are, I think the fact one dominated the other is a determining factor. I just said it passively, the real reason I replied in the first place was to get him to explain his reasoning. I think this argument is serving no purpose, I'll remember to have you edit all of my posts before posting them in future, Robbi.

I don't have a list. I don't know that much about that many fighters for my opinion to hold any weight anyhow. That said, I could imagine Chavez being amongst the top 30 of all time, whereas Pernell would be among the top 20 - lower end of the top 20. I like both fighters, Chavez was incredible at his best, and he gets to much stick for having a padded record. Guys like Robinson and Pep weren't fighting world beaters every time out either. Bottom line, Chavez beat the best in his division more often than not.

The effect of your avatars are cool. But the photos you choose are pretty basic. That Chavez one isn't special. Maybe just my tatse. You do have some good ones. I liked the Pryor one.
