This fight would make sense, it would show us where both men are standing at this point of their respective careers. How did Areeola digest his beating at the hands of Vitali Klitschko? And is Toney really as shot as some of his last fights might have indicated?

For me, it all comes down to what Toney has left. Stylewise, this should be an easy fight for James - if he indeed has something left. But we simply don't know how faded he really is - all we know is that he's back in a somewhat reasonable shape (for him) and that he's (literally) hungry again. He seems dedicated, but he's also 41 years old - it might be too little too late. As a fan, I really hope he has enough left to outhustle Arreola, after all he's an ATG legend and he deserves a last hurrah. And if he surprises us and looks good, he might even get a shot at Vitali, but we shouldn't even think about that right now. Arreola is a big enough task at hand.

Another thing, if Toney should lose this one, or only win a close decision again, he should retire.

Not a good fight for Arreola. Toney has too much experience and even if he doesn't show up in winning shape he will make Arreola look bad. Arreola should make a 3 fights plan starting with an easy one while getting his ass in shape. That is, if he finally decided to be a serious boxer.

These days Arreola is the star who draws large, mostly latin amercian audiences, for HBO - Toney has the name to make it a compelling match up... Also, Kerry Davis from HBO wanted this match up to happen earlier this year...

Yes, Toney, even at 41 or whatever he is, will probably outbox Arreola, but you never know. I'd like to see this fight.

Seems like Arreola will not face Toney after all. I'm not questioning Arreolas courage, but Goossen thought that Toney would be too much of a risk for him right now..
