that's actually not true. Welterweight is a division with a maximum weight of 147 pounds .. look up the definition.

so putting a Welterweight fight at a catchweight of 145 in essence goes against the original definition of WW

as it forbids fighters from coming in above 145.

but Welterweight doesn't=147

Manny fought DLH at Welter and didn't come close to 147 at the weigh in.

 

Cotto is fighting a smaller guy, so why should he be worried?

i like both cotto and pacquiao but if pacquiao is as great as everybody believes then why is he forcing cotto to cum in at no more than 145 and still put his title on the line. cotto shud tell em to go **** themselves and just come in at 147 he aint breaking the championship rules by coming in bang on at 147. rules are there for a reason.

I understand that 145 is within the WW limit but I still dont know why they would fight DLH at 147 and not Cotto unless roach knew Cotto would be a different animal at 147 than DLH was at 147. Doesnt make much sense unless roach knows cotto at 147 would be too much for Pac

i'll be enjoying the fight for sure. Cant remember the last time i was both looking foward to a fight so much and at the same time really wished it didnt happen than i have for this one. Pac and Cotto are my two favorite fighters at the moment and it sucks one has to lose but i think more of me wants Cotto to win. Regardless, we'll be watching what will probably be fight of the year.
