The hatton fight though it was not what we expected it did live up to the hype you dont see those kind of knock outs in big fights that often.....

I have a fear that Roach with this meeting regarding Cottos low blows might sour the fight, the ref may warn cotto for border line shots and if pac wins by some bull**** DQ I have lost all respect, if the DQ is worthy okay then but if its some BS that is not good for boxing...

if any of those threads is at all exist, most if not all were done by pac haters trying to bring in more hate towards pac. iv read one of those but got exposed because the poster misspelled the "filipinos", was writen as "phillipinos".

try to tickle your brain,it might start working.

the way i see your work is -pac is praying for cotto,as his soul rises above and waving goodbye. i do hope that wont happen, ever on the sport.

poor creativity coming from a cotto fan who declared war behind his keyboard.

I've been reading the Forums (although I only joined recently) for almost 2 years now and honestly I haven't seen that many threads proclaiming Pac as # 1 P4P ever or that he could beat Tyson or other stupid stuff like that. Sure every once in a while you'll get it but it doesn't happen as often as other people suggest. Heck, fans of other top fighters to that as well too.

I honestly think the hate that the *******s get is disproportionate to the actual number of **** threads they start. They're the 1st to admit that Pac always loses in fantasy fights (and often don't even bother to argue why Pac would win), the only time they get really riled up is when idiots start posting stuff like "Pac is ducking black boxers".

Sure *******s get carried away with the hype of their favorite fighters, but isn't that what being a fan is all about? IMO it's rarely as bad as some people here make it out to be.

Well when people say Barrera was at the end of his better days they get mad, when we point out that Oscar was shot and weight drained, they get mad, when even Roach admits this...

And get this he also just admitted Ricky Hatton wasnt that good, now if we say that here it sort of takes away that performance to a degree becuase you now have Mannys trainer admitting as much as well....

And some how its as if we are all wrong including Roach a man who took manny where Manny is today.... I am sorry but the facts are the facts....

Manny is P4P#1 by Default Floyds retirement and Mannys two recent performances got him that spot, but still in the end Manny is un tested north of 130

I just love how someone who for the better part of the decade has fought tough fights against name opponents is "hyped".

    Amir Khan - That's hype.

I suppose Sugar Ray Leonard burst the Duran "hype bubble"?

I rarely see anyone arguing that de la hoya wasn't shot and weight drained, not even even the *******s. But you have to admit, Pac still looked amazing in the fight. Barrera's condition during their 1st fight is an arguable point anyway, he still was one of the best pound for pound during that fight and went to win his next fights so *******s getting mad at this suggestion doesn't really seem so strange, it's still a valid debate, especially if you're a fan of the fighter.

As for Hatton, you have to give it to the *******s, even before the fight they were complaining that if Pac had won, people would start calling hatton B-level, chinny and past his best days despite the fact that almost everyone saw it as a tough fight for Pac. Before the fight, only a few people were very vocal about how bad they though Hatton was. Majority of the people thought Hatton would be a good challenge. But, true enough, Pac destroyed Hatton and almost everyone called Hatton B-level, chinny and past his best days. Whatever the case, you can't diss Pac for taking that fight, almost everyone wanted it to happen.

You have to remember, barring admittedly tune-up fights like Diaz, Solis etc Pacquiao always takes on fights that either:

    1. The fans want to see
    2. Are perceived as really tough challenges

And then he wins them pretty dominantly.

What happens is, *******s and Pac fans get impressed, and they become vocal about it. While doubters and haters, start thinking "oh, Pacquiao can't possibly be that good, so something is probably wrong with his opponent" and start tearing the opponent down. By the time Pacquiao's next fight is announced, because that fight will be perceived as a challenge they'll start thinking "now this is the fight where Pac finally get's exposed and his hype train finally gets derailed". If Pacquiao wins, the cycle then repeats until he either retires or loses. Once he does lose, doubters and haters will celebrate the end of a hype job while fans will be sad but be grateful of having witnessed a real spectacle of a career.

Now perhaps the arguments why Pac's opposition wasn't so good are valid. But all of those arguments are based on hindsight and all of these opponents were considered dangerous before they fought Pac. So maybe instead of calling Pacquiao a hype job, maybe you should all just call his opponents hype jobs and say that Pac exposed them. Maybe that would be more accurate.
