:patsch Roy was great in his day, in fact he was always better than Hopkins until he got weight drained, met father time, and became gun shy, Taylor isn't even close to to being on the same planet as Roy.

Some things in boxing just don't change. The poll is 28-28. JT lost 4 of his lost 5 fights, and got knocked out 3 times, but he's still creating controversy:hey

I think its creating controversy because alot of people want him to pull off one last big win against another good champion (ala carbajal over arce for instance) before hanging them up. And at this point he's pretty much the underdog against anyone in a legit top 10 right now.

The "if he can do it again" part of the sport is what keeps boxers such as, taylor or toney for example, interesting.

Many of us knew Taylor was a Lou DiBella HBO hype job a long time ago.

He seems like a decent guy, and he's tough (immediate rematch with Pavlik), but he's never been "all that."

Doesn't mean he hasn't had a good career, but he was never close to what HBO tried to make him out to be. But that's HBO for you.

Maybe he just didn't have the potential for better stamina. By your logic, if American or European marathon runners would train for 30 mile races instead of the 26.2 of the marathon, they would suddenly beat the Africans. Stamina is also talent - related, some fighters like Pavlik or Calzaghe are naturally gifted, others like Taylor or DHL are not. Do you really think professional trainers who saw Taylor's stamina issues didn't do everything in training to improve it?

What you are saying is that Taylor would have achieved more if he ws a different fighter. Mental strength and stamina are also part of the potential of a fighter and that's where Taylor had some serious limitations.

JT was a great fighter, He still got it in him but maybe not with the biggest guys in the sport. He should build up he's confidence by fighting some lesser opponents. Though i still think he can beat Dirrell and Ward

Taylor did do decent against aa, only behind by a round or two at most of the scorecards until aa landed that vicious shot between the guard, at the last part of the last round. If getting ko'd in the last round against and undefeated knockout artist is a let down, then **** what do you want from the guy. Yes you want him to win, but to say he has delahoya syndrom, is that really a bad thing?

Point being, he didnt let me down either.

That Taylor that beat Hopkins and later became the first man to force Pavlik to go 12 rounds would have beat Abraham 118-110 X 3.

You're probably right about that, but considering it was on aa's side of the pond, i see the cards more like, 116-113, 117-111, 115-113 in jt's favor imho.

You are not going to win "118-110" X 3 if you fight your opponent the way taylor was. He was fighting scared, NEVER seen him like that.

Jermain was fighting shot to ****!

once known for one of the best jabs in the sport; jab was neither sharp, nor stiff, nor quick.

Known for sharp-accurate lead right; non-existant.

Known for blistering combinations; threw 2-3 punches at a time, and not fast punches. mostly just pitty-patted with a lazy jab.

known for fast-accurate left hook; didn't throw a one.

Known for warrior mentality; didn't want to fight.

Arthur put on a fairly good fight, and even if he had not been allowed to foul at will with impunity, he still would have won. Jermain did about as well as #43 ranked LuJaun Simon, except Simon finished on his feet. what's that tell you about this version of Jermain?
