LAMONT PETERSON “I was actually here for Timothy’s last fight and I couldn’t believe Nate Campbell quit like that. As a fighter I don’t care if your toe comes off you or one of your hands comes off it’s your responsibility to fight while you’re in there. It’s up to the referee or the guy in your corner to stop the fight and not you. You’re supposed to fight no matter what the circumstance."

If he's ever in the same situation, we'll see if he reacts the same way. It's one thing for "fans" on message boards to call fighters quitters, but I thought a fellow boxer would have a little more tact about it.

You got to admit though Vasquez fought with the same injury that Campbell got but Vasquez got it worse but still didn't quit in which shows Vasquez got way more warrior's heart then Campbell correct?

Yeah, but if anyone deserves it, it's Nate Campbell.

If the man was worried about being blinded in that eye, I don't blame him at all. He makes an ass out of himself sometimes but his fighting spirit up till the Bradley fight earns him the benefit of the doubt about this in my opinion.

But was it the same injury? Do we know that for sure? I just think we can get in trouble diagnosing how bad an injury is while we're sitting at home watching the fight on TV, rather it's a cut, a low blow, etc.

It was the same injury. Vasquez got it worse in which is why he hasn't fought in over a year.

Again, Ray, how do we know it was the same injury? Was it just in the same spot? Did it look the same? I've read that blood was pooling behind Nate's eye, endangering his eyesight. Was Vasquez suffering from that same issue?

No offense, brother, but watching a fight on TV and calling a guy a quitter is easy to do, but hard to prove. Unless it's a really obvious example, I'm usually going to give the boxer the benefit of the doubt. Especially a guy like Campbell, who has never shown any quit in a fight before.

Agreed. You can't even chalk it up to pre-fight hype, because he's not fighting Campbell. There was no reason to take a shot like that.

Peterson has had 27 fights and he's finally stepping up to fight a ranked guy. In his 24th fight, Nate was fighting Joel Casamoyer. Peterson should show a little more respect for Nate, at least until he's accomplished a little something himself. Or he should just not mention Nate at all, unless they fight in the future.

Seeing spots in your eye can be a symptom of something dangerous.

If a fighter is seeing spots in his eye he should consider several things before he quits:

    a) Will the fan and media foot all his medical bills?
    b) If he becomes blind, will anyone from the fans and media give him one of their eyes?
c)Will the fans and media support his family for him or give him a similarly high paying job if he is not able to fight anymore?

d)Is being called a warrior worth losing your eye and not being able to look at women anymore?

e)When he is a broke washed up fighter who can't get a woman will anyone from the fan's or media offer him their wife for a night?

If the answer to all of these questions is yes then he should continue fighting like a real warrior.
