as far as im concerned in his prime years 21-24 he wouldve beaten any featherweight of his time including barrera morales and jmm and wouldve given every feather in history fits.

he accomplished so much in his short career including becoming the youngest british world champ ever

Yes he is,

He obliterated most people he fought, and his fight vs berrera although one sided, wasnt a complete shut out, and barrera fought a near perfect fight.

He brought more entertainment that 90% of champions bring, and brought a lot of non-boxing people to boxing.

He had 15 defences of his featherweight title, most of which he done it in a style thats probably never been seen before,

Lets no forget lewis got sparked out twice by pretty average fighters, so hamed getting beat by Barrera doesnt eliminate what he had done.

that's hardly an exposure, it only seemed so as so many expected Naz to spark Barrera out, but Barrera outboxed him.
Had he fought Morales the fight would have been different as Morales would have attacked him rather than sit back and counter, and that would have been a different outcome.

But the shame is he didnt continue, there is speculation as to why he stopped, but recently he said he had bad hands, which stopped him from throwing the bombs he wanted to and knew he used to.

he fought quality opposition and was damn entertaining.
even in that hiding he got off barrera. he never gave up and went the distance. unfortunate that he had left brendan ingle by then. and barrera is naturally way bigger

by the time he fought Barrera he was declining and his training habits had gone to ****. I think he deserves to be ranked higher than what u guys are giving him.

B) Exposed by Marco in the most important fight in his career

C) Quit shortly after said exposition

D) Never attempted to 'avenge' the loss

E) Per having not fulfilled D, another step further required to qualify for ATG status, via making the 'loss' look marginal/like a fluke via a second decisive win or wins over other top drawer fighters was not and could not have been met

F) Resume is decent

HOF yes ATG no. His only huge fight he fell very short so i dont think so.

 

Hamed is my favourite British fighter of all time. But he certainly is NOT an ATG.

He was the legitmate, linear, unfied Feathweight champion. He beat a lot of good contenders and champions, but he didn't beat any great fighters and retired after his first loss.

There is no case for Hamed being considered an ATG.

 

I had it 117-110 with a point deduction for Barrera. Barrera beat the fight out of him and he retired soon afterward.

 

Exactly how I see it. A very, very good fighter but not atg.
