Does Khan get respect for knocking Salita out?

well hes undefeated so to people that like Khan he probably will.

 

No. Salita is a hype-job and that is all.

 

Salita has a 53% KO rate (against AWFUL opposition) nobody cares about this joke of a fight. Khan will run around the ring throwing pitter pat punches that only hit the gloves and will win a UD.

 

That might still mean he is capable of knocking out Khan...... who has the chin structure of a sandcastle.

One to watch for you Rico..... David Price - bronze medallist in the Olympics last year...... not quite Khan-esque but certainly worth putting $$$ on him being cleaned up at some stage.

 

No he ****ing well doesn't. for anyone to get my respect, they have to have done something meaningful. and beating salita doesn't come under that category. if however he got himself knocked out, then yes i would give some respect (to salita).

 

Price is a big guy and I enjoyed watching him in the Olympics. Who did he sign with Warren or another British promoter?

The thing about Salita is he has faced NOBODY at all. If he had atleast fought a few decent contenders that 53% KO rate would look better.

 

i agree, he is a broken jaw waiting to happen. tyson fury put him down in the amateurs.

He originally signed with David Haye..... but when the broadcaster Setanta went bust he had a seven month layoff, and looked less than great in his second fight against a German, who was doing OK before quitting on his stool.

Now with Frank Maloney, who matches his guys softer than Frank Warren, so don't expect him to go anywhere soon.

Fury looks the better pro of the two, even though the story of Price being busted up in sparring and put on his ass are debatable, total bull**** IMO.

 

Ya, I would rate him more highly than I do now. In the last fight Khan looked terrified of throwing a big punch in case he got hit with anything. He just threw a flurry of small punches and then moved away as quick as he could.

If he knock Salita out in decent style it might show a good progression in his development.

Thats if its a KO though, not Salita going against the ropes, Khan throwing 10 arm punches and the referee stops it.

 

Don't rule out a bull**** stoppage in Khan's favour.... they are getting more and more common in British rings.

Some of the stoppages in the past year have been disgraceful, guys that barely have their legs buckled are being rescued, just a joke!

 

Not really. Salita has never faced a puncher, and he's never faced anything more than a C+ level fighter. Who the hell knows if he has a chin?

 

Salita's been caught cold twice in the first round by guys who have a combined record of 41 wins with 6 by way of KO...also most of his opponents have around a 50% KO ratio; so his chin is dubious. He's also only been in one 12 round fight so his stamina is questionable as well.

I don't want to dump on Salita's record "as such" because of the issues he has finding reasonable opponents. He's a practicing Orthodox Jew, which means he can't fight after sundown on Friday (limited to early Friday fights that don't pay money) or late Saturday fights which none will give him because that's "prime time" reserved for main events; which cuts his availability of dates considerably because he's too high a level fighter to still be fighting early Friday 4 rounders and not a "name" fighter to get the Saturday night slot.
