AA is not ****ing Froch. Froch is a slow, flat footed average
fighter with no defense. AA is a completely different fighter.

Exactly. People point out to what Abraham can't do while ignoring that he doesn't need most of that stuff. He is hard to hit with his turtle shell, while he moves around the ring slowly much of the time, his attacks are quite explosive and of course he can make an opponent nervous once they tasted his power. He has an effective style for his body type and size and isn't a clumsy, hittable fighter like Froch.

Actually I think that in some ways Froch is more skilled than Abraham. He's actually pretty underrated from a technical standpoint; however, he is slow, and his balance is often off especially when he's fighting on the inside.

I do agree that Abraham is a completely different fighter then Froch though and what he does have will be enough to beat Dirrell at this point in time.

I think the reason Dirrell loses this fight is bc of the first fight. In his first fight he felt like he was cheated therefore he is going to be trying to make sure he does as much as possible to not get robbed again. Meaning I believe he will be taking more chances in this fight then he did in the Froch fight, these chances are going to be what eventually gets him KO'd in this fight. Abraham will probably drop him around the 8th or 9th.

Honestly, I think if he takes more chances, that he can win the fight, but that all depends on what you mean by taking chances.

If you mean, aggressively pursuing Abraham and being caught of balance or with your hands down, then I agree with what your saying.

On the other hand though, if he is more aggressive in the sense that instead of looking for a way out all the time, he instead looks for counters, then I think he can definitely win the fight.

Dirrell has potential to be great. He has fast hands, good technique and has every punch in the book. It's just that he may lack the experience to deal with the kind of pressure Abraham will bring. And judging by honestly how tired he looked at the end of each round, and to me, the way he increasingly held as the fight went on, and even more obviously, ran like a jackrabbit, will spell BIG TROUBLE with a guy like Abraham.

And Abraham isn't half as tallented as Dirrell, but he has a damn big punch and he won't hesitate to pull the trigger if he has his man in the corner, doin nothin but lookin for a way out.

It would depend purely on your definition of talent; while the sense of distance and timing, as well as the ability to formulate and execute a gameplan without getting rattled may not get people hyped up like a guy who has lightning fast speed, I'd venture to say they're talents nonetheless and in those areas Abraham has Dirrell trumped. It's comments like that that make me think having the decision go against him has lead to some people overrating Andre in hindsight because they feel bad for what happened. Truth is, I can't ignore that Andre fought a good portion of that fight in a way that wasn't smart even though I had him winning.

I saw moments of brilliant boxing from Andre, but I also saw mistakes so stupid that a smart fighter like Abraham will knock him out if they're not fixed- the two biggest ones being jumping in for a clinch without throwing anything (and throwing nothing on the inside), and backing straight up (at certain points without even having his guard up). I'd like to see those get fixed, and if they don't, Abraham's going to knock him out in ugly fashion. As it stands, I see a better chance of Abraham either catching him doing something stupid or catching Dirrell in a trap than I do of Dirrell keeping things on the outside and winning a clean UD.

Sauerland picked Ward and Dirrell not "in spite of" their lack of experience, but because of it. Look at the line up, and please show me one guy who has a snow balls chance in hell against Sauerland's two fighters.

Maybe Ward. Ward honestly doesn't have the natural tallents of Dirrell in terms of speed, reflexes, and more than likely power, (although he is close), but he has technique that's already very very good and he's improving with every fight.

And maybe most importantly is he's not a scared fighter. He's a guy with strong will power who fights with heart, and he showed that against Miranda, for not only taking the fight, but winning a lopsided decision, at times even going for the knockout, and showing no signs of fear.

Not to mention the fact that he got headbutted in the first round and had to overcome a cut, with a huge puncher in pursuit. I admire his heart, and I think the way he picked Miranda apart showed his skills.

The only thing that may hold him back is his lack of power, but Kessler isn't willing to take the kind of punishment a guy like Miranda is in order to land a punch.

I think Saurland knew that Ward was the best out of the three Americans with the most potential and that's why he put him in against Kessler who is the best technician amongst the Europeans.

Saurland knew that Dirrell didn't have the experience to win against Froch, and often showed the lack of heart, and that Taylor was on the decline and previously had trouble against fighters who could absorb punishment and back him up.

But I'm going to go out on a ledge and pick Ward to upset Kessler.

You're certainly not the only person who has high hopes for Ward. If he surprises me, he sure won't be the first prospect that proved me wrong. I just think that the difference between a poorly trained and damaged version of Miranda is **** poor preparation for a recently tuned up and ready to roll Kessler.

You can't run in a square ring, and if you somehow are able to run...Joe Louis said it best...."You can run, but you can't hide"... You win a title by hitting a guy more than he hits you, and that is how Dirrell fought against a very aggressive fighter in Froch and imo beat him. AA beats Dirrell who will be tough to beat.

I don't know how you judge talent, but I know that Abraham is just as talented as Dirrell if not more.

If you look at it from a nationalistic point of view, you maybe right. But if you look at it in a boxing fans point of view, you could be no more wrong. The Europeans WILL fight each other hence disaproving your statement. If "Sauerland's two fighters" end up fighting each other, obviously ONE will lose. Do you think he did not think about this before setting up the tournament?

You're making my point even better than I did. Sauerland's sole objective was to put his two fighters in a big fight on American TV. He's a smart man. He knew who to invite, and who to avoid.
