Before you vote: I don't mean NOW, as they are both active. I mean prime years vs prime years. Another head-to-head what-if match-up just for fun. When I put up the Trinidad VS Cotto thread for welterweight, I was pretty decided on it in that I thought the likely outcome was Trinidad knocking Cotto out. This time, I'm not so sure. I think it's a lot more of an equal match. I don't see a knockout happening. I think we've got to go to a decision and both guys are the type that are cautious in their offense but highly effective with the shots they let go. I think they both have underrated power and with the speed, accuracy and smart placement of their shots can pack a good wallop. They're both elite in terms of skill. Both fighters have held major world titles at super featherweight, lightweight and light welterweight. Floyd has additionally held major titles at welterweight and light middleweight whereas Camacho has held minor, poorly regarded titles at welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight. Camacho, still plugging away in minor fights far past his prime is 79(38 by knockout)-5(never stopped)-3. Floyd is 40-0-0 with 25 wins by knockout and arguably not yet out of his prime years. The respective versions of these fighters from their major title-holding years, in those weight classes in common which they taken a major title, how does it play out? Camacho: About 5'6.5 with 69 inch reach This content is protected PBF: 5'8 with 72 inch reach This content is protected
Despite being the considerably greater fighter historically, Mayweather would have all sorts of difficulties with the uber-talented Camacho of the early and mid 80s, at 130 and also 135 for that matter. Camacho was ridiculously fast himself, faster than Mayweather in fact. Mayweather is generally more aggressive (and hittable) against southpaws, so Camacho should get some offense going, particularly in the early going. Mayweather doesn't have the short of fight-changing power to really hurt and scare Camacho like El Chapo did, but he might able to land with enough consistency to put Camacho in more of a defensive mode. Floyd is such an intelligent and resourceful fighter, great at making the proper adjustments to control the fight in the latter half. I say this repeats itself, as Camacho gets off to the fast start and gives Floyd fits, while Floyd gradually turns the fight in his favor, but not completely taking over like he's done so many other fights. It'd then go to the cards and be a close one, I'll sit on the fence as to who wins the decision.
Csmacho's super fast combination punching wins this one for him. Neither guy gets KO'd so the decision would favor the more active guy throwing flashy combos.
Mayweather doesnt have the punch too bother camacho at all this would be a good biff though camacho would beat mayweather from piller to post at jr welter
This one is really a question mark for me. Mayweather has the superior upper-body defensive movement but Camacho has the best legs and feet. These are both slick, quick, excellent fighters.
Hector looked amazing against a certain level of fighter..but when he stepped up to that next level he didnt look as good. He has a lot of tools that will trouble Money and you can bet he will..But an elite guy thats as well rounded and adaptable as Floyd is going to find a way to beat a guy like Hector. Floyd takes it around 8-4.
I wonder if these poll results would change at all if posted immediately after Floyd's first loss (If he ever does lose). Sometimes the 0 makes a guy look like he should be favored against anyone in his weight range from any time.
this is the worst fight ever.................... to watch this is like.........listening to a ben stein lecture
i voted i dont mind the thread but floyd would win this fight pretty easy...............interestingly enough I envision floyd being the agressor here i think
At JL this is a tuff one to call but im gonna go with Floyd by decision,Camacho was a special talent but im not sure if hes on Floyds level even in his prime. At Junior Welter or Welter Floyd kicks his ass easy.l
