That's not even relevant. What does Pavlik have to do with the fact that Goosen low balled both Clottey and Martinez, and DEMANDS a rematch clause no matter who Paul fights?

I guess many here has a short memory cause if i remember right didn't Judah accept 150k for the Spinks rematch? Damn just 150k? Judah accept it and my goodness it pays off cause he tko Spinks to become the undisputed ww champion in which that got Judah more money in other fights. And Judah is a bigger draw then Clottey for crying out loud. <<So people are complaining about the 650 or 500k offer while nobody don't know how much Clottey normally makes?

Clottey probably made close to a million for that fight. $650,000 isn't a low-ball offer (though Goosen's original offer definitely was), but it's understandable that Clottey doesn't want to take a leap in weight on short notice for a less-than-spectacular payday (especially when he knows he'll just get beat and his career will go even further downhill).

As soon as Goosen strikes the rematch clause, and makes a realistic offer to Martinez, I will.

Your saying he low balled Clottey and Martinez but in actuallity is either of those fighters worth big dollars!!

Clottey is coming off of a loss and Martinez is not even well know!!

We don't even know the purse of the fight!!

Do you have the purse info??

This isn't a slight on Paul, by the way; pretty much all the Pavlik fans like Paul. It's his dip**** promoter that annoys people. Arum screwed around Pavlik's career just as Goosen screws Williams'.

Goosen DEMANDED a rematch clause no matter who Paul fights. Team Pavlik wanted a rematch clause and Goosen damn near killed the fight over it. That's called hyprocrisy, plain and simple.

who the **** are you .... martinez's butler?

seriously shut the ****up... full of a bunch of troll threads...just shut that **** up already...

williams didnt even low ball anyone anyways... he "lowballed" clottey who wanted more than a half a million... which doesnt even make sense when you put it into perspective...mosley got 4 million for fighting margarito... clottey isnt 1/8th what mosley is so it makes sense

martinez just dont want to do the rematch clause which is also dumb as ****.... supposed to train for a real skilled opponent in one month? shut the **** up already honestly... because if it was pavlik you would be sucking his dick about how he does deserve a rematch clause and a bunch of other nonsense

just shut the **** up already and stop trying to divert the attention from your broken god

fair enough but boo radley just full of ****... acting like a little ****ing kid ... half of these posters are grown ass men going into their 40's but act like 15 year olds... just post the damn news or stfu... 1 month clearly aint sufficient time to prepare for any good fighter

if it was pavlik doing what williams is doign boo radley would be calling martinez a *****... and saying pavlik was ok for doing it.. gtfo boo radley... take that **** somewhre else

So they are hypocrites by wanting the same thing Pavlik's team did?

Its not uncommon for the more recognized champion to demand a rematch clause in a fight for their belt or belts. Seeing as it guarentees them a another big money fight and another immediate shot at the title if they were to lose. In fact, its almost commonplace for the champion to attempt to demand it.

Just as common though is the challenger either attempting to decline that option being included, or using it to barter for more money in the contract. In other words, "we will give you a rematch if we win, but you have to make it worth our while".

In this instance, Williams team is the much more recognized champion and the one taking the biggest risk...much like Kelly's team was vs Paul. If Paul was wrong in throwing the "hissy fit" as you called it, then why is Paul now wrong when its Martinez team throwing the "hissy fit" over it?

Come on man...be consistant please...your better than that.
