Ron Borges on Margarito, after the hand wraps were discovered. That's why it's now suspect and why people are questioning it.
We cannot use Mosley's win due to Marg being out of it due to getting caught. Well, that is what I seen in his eyes prior to the first bell. If he was using plaster of paris for all of his fights, then he fought like superman and Mosley brought some kriptonite that night. Marg was like metal and Mosley was the magnet. To top it off he gets dropped and then KO'ed at the end. Cotto did not have any legs due to the beating that took place after the fifth to six rounds. I thought Cotto was doing exceptionally well at the beginning and he should have held here and there. I will always look at that fight with suspition. A rematch will do nothing due to Marg not being the same fighter. Well, we have not seen him yet fight since the Mosley fight, but some of us might agree that he maybe mentally shot.
Cottos legs where gone becuase he was forced to use them at a very high pace, on top of that its not like Margarito was not scoring his shots to the body and up top early on he was, and when you look at how hard Margarito was digging those body shots in plus the over use of the legs by Cotto, of course when Margarito steps it up in the middle rounds Cotto is going to fade... Cotto has faded in fights before Mosley and with Clottey... he has been on the floor before as well... He fought the wrong fight period...
Cotto just delivers those kinds of fights and beatings. Marg is not known for that style. It could make you think, especially when he beat Cintron not once, but twice by stoppage. The Lujan ear? I hope I am wrong, but what goes around, comes around. Look how he ended up, taking the worst beating of his life and KO'ed when annoucers were saying he has the best chin around.
I'm not knocking your obvious talent for the perezhilton.com gossip. I already mentioned how admirable your attempts have been in seeking some clarity on the subject. What annoys me is the attention paid to such negative publicity centered around boxing as a direct result of these accusations. I'm in no way attempting to evaluate your mental make up my man I just simply want to know what the purpose of the thread was geared towards. Seriously what prompts you to create random threads that question Cotto's legitimacy? There's no lack of subject matter in boxing and you've made no mystery that you are a staunch Floyd supporter so why create more threads revolving around Cotto's career? Just a question. Oh as for the Mets....what can I say injuries are a part of the sport...before these injuries I believe the Mets where winning in the mini series department vs Philly. Margarito is known for that style look at his ****ing fights, For christ sakes he beat Cintron twice becuase Cintrons style is tailor made for his... Jujans ear, it was getting hit over and over with right hands when you get hit on the ear like that it swells up blood fills, and after enough right hands sooner or later is going to pop.. thats what happend... He did take a beating from Mosley but there were reports prior to the fight that he came into camp very heavy and had to take off 35 pounds in six weeks to make the weight.... That is going to make you flat when you crash diet like that your going to get hurt... happens all the time with young fighters....
This thread isn't about Cotto, or his legitimacy. It's about proving Margo's legtitimacy, and more importanly, proving that I was right. I'm not concerned about Cotto here. He's going to get his ass kicked in a couple of weeks. If I really want to rag on him, I can just wait until then. Again, the thread is about Margo's career, you have made it about Cotto not me. Just stop it, they've finished behind The Phillies the last 3 years now.
You haven't proved anything about being right. One "witness" wasn't in the the room at all, by his own admission. The other was in the room, but isn't exactly definitve in his statement - which is contradicted by claims from Cotto's camp. in both cases, all parties concerned have agendas to promote - basically, it's an inconclusive mess. No one is going to prove anything because no one, except for Margarito and his former trainer, know the truth.
yea right. Look, id Love it if Margarito didnt cheat vs Cotto...but he likely did. Forget all the other stuff for a moment and look at the physical evidence on Cotto's face. I dont think ive seen anything like it
Team Cotto said they didn't send anyone to change the wraps. Till I see footage of Evangelista in there I'm sticking with that. Desperate attempts from Tijuana kindergarten drop-outs to try and make that cheating trash look innocent are all ignored.
I am not Puerto Rican. Though I am a Cotto fan, clearly. However, never once have I accused Margarito of using loaded wraps against Cotto. At the same time, I'm also not dismissing the thought of it. Fact of the matter is, there is no way to find out the truth. The only people who know this are Margarito and Capitello. I'm assuming you didn't see the video ESPN ran earlier this year where they demonstrated how the pads were hidden inside of Margarito's hand wraps. This is something that could have been done in a split second, and unless they were being watched like hawks...very easily could have been missed, even twice.
