I'm a British citizen, I wanted Froch to win, I was hoping he would up until the final bell but he didn't. Dirrell won that fight, that's all there is to it.
Uuuuum Lewis in the first Holyfield fight ? it was a bad call i agree , I thought Direll won but the fact is I have seen many many iffy calls in American fights and the judges and ref were from all over the place so enough of this hometown bull**** , thats just an excuse modern amercian fighters use to avoid travelling. If it had been the other way round and froch had been the one fighting so negatively and running about all over the place do you think he would have taken Dirells belt had the fight taken place in the US ? Its not like their havent been controversial decisions before. With a bit of luck we'll get a rematch at some point.
Did you see Froch throwing hammer punches like he was in the UFC. LOL!.. Dirrell most definately was robbed. Froch landed like 3 good punches, and you could tell when he did cause the crowd went ballistic. And the ref was indeed sucking off that english crowd.
I can remember it, and it wasn't a robbery. It was a bad decision, plain and simple. Yes, Lewis should have won that fight by at least 4 points. The Valuev fight, on the other hand, was a robbery. People booed the decision, in Europe, and everyone in the Press row had Holyfield winning. As I mentioned, SI had him up by 8 points. The fight wasn't even remotely close.
Right. You neglect to mention the fact that Froch didn't defeat a champion to win his title either, did he? He fought for a vacant belt. As for doing enought to win a title, it goes both ways. You should have to do more than just show up to defend your belt....shouldn't you?
