I think he looked pretty good in the workout especially the body punching which is where the fight will be won imo. Valuev will not be able to deal with that. I think he can fight to a gameplan, for example the Mormeck fight he stuck to the gameplan perfectly. Haye will KO the giant, he's just too fast and too powerful. Also Haye's legs look huge now he's not boiling down to the 200lb limit.
I hope I am wrong, but I just do not see Haye having enough to beat Valuev. I see Valuev winning and winning pretty easy, inside six; Haye's chin will not be good enough. Here is hoping I am eating a huge slice of humble pie come a week Sunday, for once I would enjoy every bite!
Its funny the way sky's promoting this fight and the impact its having because the casuals i've spoken to think that Valuev's name is actually Goliath.
Blimey. Lots of doubters. I'm still sticking with Haye TKO rds 6-9. I just think Haye will be able to land on him too easily and too often. That body punching just looked vicious.
I've gone for a Haye decision, but am less than fully confident in that prediction. Firstly I can't see that Haye is going to score a one punch knockout against this guy. It's gonna be like boxing a f*cking elephant! Maybe if Haye can befuddle the Giant by sticking, moving and pot shotting he can stun him and overwhelm him for a stoppage, but I have my doubts. Sticking and moving is undoubtedly the way for Haye to beat Little Nicky, but will Haye's stamina hold out? We all know that it's looked suspect before now so 12 rounds on his bike may be too much to ask. Especially if he allows Valuev to hold and lean on. A man that size leaning on and wrestling is bound to sap the strength so Haye will have to hit with enough authority to keep him honest whilst not over committing. Haye needs to be ultra focussed and ultra sharp here. If he can do that and fight the right fight then he can do it. And keep that damned left hand UP!!! The heart says Haye and maybe the head does, too. Can't get away from the niggling doubts though. So it's intriguing to say the least, but the way this pans out could well be less than interesting. Just PLEASE no German robbery!!!
Haye to stick and move and grab a comfortable points win, barring any funny business from the judges. He should be able to tee off on Valuev at will but he needs to pace himself and avoid getting carried away. Going for a KO would be a big mistake I think, unless of course he clearly has Valuev hurt, as the big man's chin seems to be good.
i really do think Haye has the brains and knowhow to outbox Valuev, i also believe not boiling down to cruiser will pay dividends with his stamina
its ironic really but i think this fight is gonna do better on SBO then Haye vs Wlad would've done and Haye will get payed more as well.
He looks as though he has been getting his sparring partner to lean on him to get used to the weight bearing down on him and it looks as though he plans to attack the body viciously to counter that. I hope it works...certainly looks as though it could have valuev on his bike, those body shots look vicious.
