No one is afraid of Carlos, who is a good fighter, by the way... Maybe Cotto should step his ass in there with PW for the very first time... Paul has been beggin to fight him for over three years now. And he won;t give a **** about fighting him up in MSG. He'll have that mother****er searching for a place to lay down in the ring...
Quintana don't want none of that ass kicking he got in the rematch. IMO Paul will kick his ass again if a 3rd fight is made. Williams is much better than he was in the 1st fight.
Wouldn't a second blowout win over a good fighter just enhance him even more? If he's sitting around shuffling his feet looking for somebody to fight him, why the hell not drive the point home beyond a shadow of any doubt against Quintana? If it's another 1-round blitzkrieg, the issue will be dropped.
:huh Wait a min. You say that Lewis\ Rahman doesnt need a rubber match but Quintana\Williams does? Why should one do have to do one but the other does not? That sounds like a double standard to me...If you give Lennox the benefit of the doubt should the same logic apply to Williams?:?
Because of the nature of the losses, and circumstances around them. It's a double standard, sure, but a justified one. People get caught cold, it clearly doesn't automatically make them lesser fighters than their conquerors. Lennox avenging his loss by spanking Hasim (and proving to pretty much all critics across the board that the first fight was an aberration) proves that. Quintana got caught cold, just as Lennox did. Anybody without an iron chin or Nocche-like defense is susceptible to having this happen. You can't write off a comfortable judges' decision as an aberration the same way you can write off a KO loss. All Williams proved is that he has the power to knock Quintana out, and/or that Quintana doesn't have titanium whiskers. He didn't prove, as Lennox did, that he merely took Quintana lightly (an easier excuse to swallow in a KO loss than a clear points loss) and was in fact the better man.
:? I dont understand that at all...So just because you think...Why is it such a big deal given on how thier careers have took off...Quintana hasnt done much to nothing...while Williams has done something decent with his career...With that said which is this big diffence that you speak of...We all know who's the better fighter if you want to use that logic. So I guess Mora\ Forrest(RIP) should have fought a rubber match?
^^^^^ R.I.P Forrest but you know what rudy? I was thinking of typing that but since Forrest got killed i didn't want to mention Forrest vs Mora.
I didnt want to bring it up either but you understand what I was trying to say..This wasnt a knock to Forrest at all!
because there is no logical way to give Lewis a pass but force Williams to fight a trilogy with Quintana!
How many rounds did Lewis lose to Rahman? 1st round KOs are deceptive, you know this. Stop being a stooge. If they fight a third time, and Paul again stops him in two minutes flat - great. He's proven that the rematch was no fluke, he's 2-1 over someone esteemed by all to be a good if not necessarily great fighter, and he's erased any doubt. Where is the harm? He's so avoided and unlucky, he wants a dance partner, what's wrong with this fight? People act like a 1st round KO is the be all end all to answer all questions in this sport, when that just isn't so and you know it.
