I have said this before but why do I get the feeling when one of the brothers loses the fight will all the sudden be 'exciting'? It is not their fault they are so much better than everyone else. How many Klitschko fights have gone the distance the last 6 years? 1? They knock people out which is what Heavyweights are supposed to do. I guess you people like watching feather fisted James Toney, Ruiz, or Briggs go 12 rounds every fight in a boring manner?
I don't think there is a need for a saviour to come along and kick everyones ass, that is dumb. That strikes me as wanting an American to come along just for the sake of them being American. There is a need for good challengers for the Klitschko's to get us excited, Arreola and Johnson are not really doing that. Whether its Povetkin, Boytsov soon, Haye if he comes through or somebody we don't know about yet.
If all of these suppossed contenders were actually fighting eachother the division would be exciting enough
I love watching Vitali fight man. Some writers say his fights are boring but those guys are idiots. His fights are awesome. Wlad is a stiff imo. Vitali can actually move pretty well and has some improvisation to his game.
i'm not saying the heavyweight division would be better without the klitschkos. i'm saying there would be more action fights and more interest would be generated in boxing because of the action. you say the klitschko's style isn't for everyone. no, their style isn't for ANYONE except klitschko cheerleaders. if it was any other fighter utilizing the exact same tactics, people would rip him apart.
Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Today I read a few other threads concerning the klitschko's, Vitaly in particular. What do I learn? That a guy who has never been down in a boxing match, actually has a questionable chin just waiting to be exposed by several fighters. I also find that the same guy who has the highest KO percentage in heavyweight history, actually does not have good punching power. "Blah blah blah", indeed.....
The need is for an American heavyweight...John L. Sullivan, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Mike Tyson...that is where the history is and that is where the greatest amount of money for the sport has traditioonally been. Get the U.S. sports fans excited and the world will get excited. U.S. fans are not excited by the Klitchkos, Povetkin, Valuev. Though American's they are not about Chambers or weren't about Arreola and Holyfield, Rahman, Toney are all has beens. Boxing needs a shot of a young talented Tyson or Ali from the United States.
The biased posters make me puke! Compare Vitali's KO percentage with others. Klitschkos almost always win by TKO or KO. How exciting can you get?!
