rate the left hooks between...

    in terms of power and technique

    technique:

    tyson- when tyson landed his left hook, it was from a created oppurtunity he made for himself from utilizing amazing head movement and setting it up with a shot to the body. his left hook was almost never thrown out of desperation as he always managed to throw the left hook at the right time

    frazier- fraziers left hook to the body followed by to the head was truly a sigh to behold. like tyson, he set up by using good head movement, but since he was blind in one eye after the training incident, it bascially became his only punch, and relied on it heavily for everything. and as his career progressed, he threw it wildy alot.

    tua- early on in his career tua would show some good technique to set up his pattened left hook. he would throw to the body and land double to triple thrown left hooks to the head. or when his opponents would keep the right hand too low and capitlalize on it by throwing a leaping left hook, not the most technical, but proved efficient as the results were tremendous.

    power:

    tua-when tua landed the left hook cleanly on the body or the jaw, his opponents immediately crumbled. i personally consider the most dangerous left hook in the history of the sport in terms of power. he knocked plenty of opponents out with the right, but using the left almost ALWAYS resulted in a knockout

    frazier. because frazier relied on his left hand, it merely became his only hand and the most dangerous. whenever his lefthook landed, it would either hurt like hell or knock you out. without a doubt a dangerous punch when it landed, but didn't really end fights like tua's did.

    tyson- the reason why i have tyson at the bottom of the list in terms of power is because tyson didn't rely on his left hook as much as tua an frazier did. just about any punch he threw was a knockout blow, i cant tell you which punch in his arsenal is the most dangerous since anything he threw would end the fight.

    Tua's left hook would be like getting hit by a train not to say the others don't have power but I think he takes the cake.

    I agree with your technique it would be quite close but I think you pretty much nailed it.

    I also enjoyed seeing Tommy Morrison's left hook. Tyson's left to the body and immediately into a uppercut was something else.

    Just watched another of his videos. He got heart: He got hurt by a right hand suffered a serious cut. Kept his composure set the guy up using his footwork then knocked him out with a left hook. priceless:bbb

    Out of the three Tua, but Vitali and Vlad's left hook would knock them all out.

    Agreed. Wlads left hook is great but Vitali shouldn't even be mentioned here. I think this is another case of a crazed fan lumping the brothers together, Vitalis left hook is nothing special.

    Interesting. Frazier kept coming at you with lefts AND rights. Don't under-estimate his right. Not great, but ok. And when he threw his right after the left hook, it could hurt you.

    Tyson tended to fight more as a boxer, with a variety of punches and combos, as you stated.

    Tua would be more of a stalker, trying to land the big left hook, often swinging for the fences. Especially later in his career.

    Three different ways of using the left hook. I think if Tua got in shape, and fought more like Frazier, he could land on the Klits.

    I'll take Tyson. He not only had the power but the speed. The left hook just came out of nowhere. Like the punchout game.

    Frazier was the best from that list but another one just as good was Tony Ayala, his left hook was perfect like Fraziers. Also Wlad threw a perfect left hook against Peter.
