Could anything tempt Calzaghe out his well earned retirement?

Sorry if this appears to be a repeat thread.
I did ask the question 'do you think if Froch won the super six by remaining undefeated and became the undisputed Champ Joe would be Tempted'?

Everybody got hung up on wether Froch could win so I thought I would post this separately.

 

I think he'd consider whooping some ass for about £1 billion or maybe 1 night with Froch's girlfriend.

 

Yeah I think realistically it would have to be about £20 million.

If the above happened the interest in the states would be huge so that figure could be dooable. Very unlikely though in the present climate.

 

I think it would have to be some seriously big money.

That undefeated record seems to mean absolutely everything to him. I don't think he'd want much to risk it.

 

I reckon anywhere from £15M - £20M would get him out of bed.

When lack of motivation is your reason for retiring, then I think that sort of sum would motivate anyone.

 

It could be a megafight, and even if JC comes out of retirement after 2 years to fight that useless **** Froch, he will thrash the arse off him.

 

What about "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here"?

 

Retiring being a champ and undefeated is quite a feat but IMO breaking Marciano's record would be really great.

And by the way, his win over Hopkins will always be an asterisk in his resume. Many thought Hopkins won that fight.

 

He's probably prefer that to dancing on ice based on his recent activity's!

 

Let's face it, he's not going to fight Kessler again.

The only options I could see is if Dawson cleans up at Light Heavy, or Froch WINS the Super 6, beating everybody, both highly doubtful.

THEN you'd have to offer over 10m I'd imagine.

 

I'll admit I can be bias towards the agressor in a fight but I cannot for the life of me see how you can give that fight to Hopkins.
He came to spoil not fight (you have to take a title. Totally underserving of a re-match. Calzaghe got it spot on when he said "why would I give him a re-match when he didn't come to fight the first time".

Anyways what is thoughts on the question of the thread?

Dawson would never happen.
The only reason I think there is a minnute chance that the froch fight could happen is that the undefeated winner of the super six would be huge so the money would be there and there would be the added bonus (in Calzaghes mind) of shutting Froch up.

From a personal point of view part of me hopes he never does come back as he has been a great servant to the sport.

Also part of me would love him to have a final fight that would put his legacy beyond question in 99% of peoples minds (already there in mine).

 

if froch did win super six {which i dont think he is capable of doing}...then froch v calzaghe at the millenium stadium in cardiff could be the biggest british fight ever !!

but by the time super six is over and froch puts his knees up for half a year, calzaghe would be near 40 and have 2/3 years retirement behind him

 

Against Froch?? You're kidding aren't you mate.

The people who hate Calzaghe wouldn't change their minds following a lopsided UD of Froch.

He's never going to undo the likes or Tocker Pudwill or Peter Manfredo, so his legacy will always be tainted in some peoples' eyes.
